My family and I discovered Three Twins (Petaluma, CA) while on vacation recently. This is truly a gift from sweet baby Jesus. I have only had their Madagascar Vanilla and Vanilla Bean and they have been exquisite. My only goal for 2017 is to try all of their flavors.

Yes, Hillside Farms is fantastic. Being that you are from the area, if you ever get down to Nescopek, there was a great place called Cruzer's. I'm not sure if they are still there, but the owners had attended the Penn State classes on ice cream making and made their own small batch varieties. They would only make a half a dozen varieties for each day. The ice cream would be set in stainless steel pans, and when it was gone that was it. A bit more expensive per scoop, but their product was amazing.
Not retail, but I also love Mystic Drawbridge in Mystic, CT.
Not always easy to find but it's fucking good.
