Seattle may lose 2nd-round pick in 2017 draft as a result of season-long failure to disclose knee injury to Richard Sherman, per @mortreport
to BBI if this were the Giants in that situation. Losing a 2nd round pick, there'd be posts ranging from wanting McAdoo or Reese's head on a stick to comparisons of Roger Goodell to Hitler.
I mean fine.. I hate the Seahawks so not shedding tears
Seattle should be stripped a 2nd round pick, at least, for passing the ball on the goal line at the end of SB XLIX, the league hates the Patriots, Seattle loses pick and should be fined too for any remotely real infraction b/c of handing the hated Patriots a SB win.
Giants don't need to worry about it as long as they don't make the same mistake. In the end, taking a pick away from any other team not named Giants just means that the Giants will get to pick one spot earlier, and that's a good thing.

I can kinda see why hiding it could give the team a competitive advantage.
To compare to an example that didn't break rules, the Giants were really coy about the details of Plax's injuries in the 2007 playoff run. If New England had known he couldn't make a certain cut, it would have changed the way they played defense.
Similarly, if teams had known that they were dealing with an injured Sherman, their gameplan would likely have changed.
Not sure if this specific case warrants a penalty, but I can see at least some logic behind it.

People on this site are surprisingly objective and forgiving when it's not the Giants or giants players.

That wasn't a bad play, regardless of result.
That is universally picked as an example of a horrendous call at that point in the game
It really doesn't matter if it is a dumb rule or not

My favorite injury memory was Diehl in 2011 after the Super Bowl we won getting surgery for a broken left hand he played with for weeks. Yet mysteriously, he was never listed on the injury report at all at any point.

You meant that wasn't a *good* play regardless of result, right? Because even if that play worked and they scored, most of the football viewing public would've thought it was stupid regardless.
why?
Like Belichick does. Tom Brady spent a record 48 straight weeks on the regular season injury report.
Who in the world did this negatively effect?
simple, and yet you still don't get it.
Who in the world did this negatively effect?
This. This isn't the first time the NFL's gone after the Seahawks with some bogus penalty IIRC.
"Richard, how's your knee feeling?"
"It's still hurting but I'm in there this Sunday guaranteed."
"Okay, no need to put him on the injured list. He's gonna tough it out."
That's reason to fine a team?

Agreed yet I guess Vegas and the NFL take the reports seriously.
My gosh, what other reason could behind such a severe penalty?
"Nope"
lol - good lord

Oh well...
