being a 1st round draft pick. It is guaranteed for injury only. Of course, when speaking of Pugh, one can't mention his past performance without mentioning injury.
the 5th year option is the reason for the difference in the 2016 cap carryover, changing from 11M to 2M....
that would not make sense. the carryover represents the surplus from the teams 2016 cap they carryover to the 2017 cap. The option for Pugh is 100% on the 2017 cap, it doesn't hit 2016, I see no reason that would touch the surplus of the 2016 cap.
2017 cap $8.8M from what I know and not impact the carryover.
The futures contracts are the ones that confuse me. those might be the difference in the carryover amount.
Maybe, but the salary cap only looks at the top 51 salaries on the team. I suspect most of those futures contracts don't land in the top 51 and therefore have no impact on the cap number.

top 51 is only off-season, in season salary cap looks at all.
I'm not sure when off-season starts. did it start already for the Giants or does it start the same time for all teams the day after the Super bowl.
Maybe optimus or jordan if you guys didn't run him off could answer for sure.
