Would be nice for Atlanta fans for the Falcons to become the 20th. Their only Super Bowl appearance up to now was an embarrassment. The next two games can make the entire franchise.
He has done a fantastic job with that team. That defense is slowly coming around. They are not a statistically great defense but they fly around and get after the QB. The effort is there.
Here's hoping Ryan doesn't choke yet again in win or go home mode
Agree, rooting hard against Rodgers and the Pack. Agree that I expect Ryan to choke. The Falcons are always exposed as a paper tiger when it counts.
Hope that changes today.
Yeah. For his first 4 Playoff appearances, it can be said that Peyton choked. Sooner or later the good ones finally rise to the top. Hoping today is that rise.
calling the Packers douche bags (or their fans)? All year long people rant about Matt Ryan being overrated and now most of BBI is kissing his butt. I'll probably end up rooting for GB and certainly don't see them as DBs and I expect a shoot out by two really good offenses that will be won by the team last in possession of the ball.

What gives with the name calling?
Name calling is lame, sure, but it's kinda weird that it bothers you so much. Why do you care what other people think of the Packers? Because you're rooting for them?
of hearing how great Rodgers is. Guy is amazing no doubt, but the media makes it seem as though he is invincible. I find him arrogant and annoying so I will enjoy it if the Packers lose.
Once the Giants are out I do not root for teams, but against some. I have ordained the Packers enemy number one to increase my enjoyment. I also think it would be funny if the Pats take it all. Meaning they own the whole league except Eli and big blue.

It is lame and unnecessary. The question is why it is necessary to call a team "douches" if there is no reason other than you are rooting for the other team. How are they douches - did they steal somebodies candy or girlfriend? It is not like GB is anything like Philly or Washington - those we understand.
As to who I'm rooting for, they lost two weeks ago. But I'm probably leaning to GB, but seeing Atlanta win would be fine - no real rooting interest either way.

Well, those choking moments I think almost always happen away from Atlanta. The refs cheat like crazy in Atlanta so I don't see how Green Bay stands a chance honestly.

I actually wouldn't mind it at all if the Patriots won it again. Giants own them forever - and it would make Eli's two wins against them all the more impressive.
Call me late to the party but why does Ty Montgomery wear a #88? Was he a TE or WR converted to RB? I haven't followed anyone this year other than the Giants.

He was a WR/KR converted to RB after Lacy's injury.
That brilliant call turned disastrous for McCarthy.

converted wr...and because of injuries... he was put at RB
Its better to fall down and play for another play.
2 arms on the ball help a little too.
GBs yardage s/b about the same as Falcons, except.....; NYFG Syndrome.
Which makes our offensive performance so disheartening after watching what both Dallas and (thus far) Atlanta have been able to do through the air. And, yes I do realize GB played the cover 2 which stifled us all season.

It was up to our coaches to come up with something to beat the Cover 2, which they failed to do.
running game counts for balance - check
receivers need to catch football in big games - check
coaching exploits one of the worst secondaries (GB) in the league - check (this one really has me puzzled about our coaching )
Once Atlanta figures out how to stall Rodgers and this could turn into a blow-out unless Atlanta goes to sleep in this one.

Our OL is terrible, despite their lofty draft pick status. Our TE is garbage and our WRs aren't good aside from Beckham.

whatchu talkin bout, Willis? Sheppard had a good rookie season
anyone see that nelson non catch replay? they showed it once n not one person complained or said anything. I must be seeing things but it totally looked like he got his second toe in bounds. It was such a fast replay, i dunno about control or what not, but i cant believe the packers or broadcasters didnt even say anything about it. Let me kno if anyone can double check that.

I thought his left knee touched the chalk before his right feet landed
I thought it was weird that they didnt even show or debate it. It killed the drive too since they didnt convert the 3rd down. Live, it looked like it wasnt a catch. jordy stretched real far n was pushed. In slo mo though, it looked like his right toe got in but thats all I could see. Happened so fast with no discussion. thnx.

Yep and receivers that don't drop the football, many different plays, very few penalties by Atlanta, and the QB can sustain drives with his mobility just to name a few more things.
The fact we couldn't do shit vs this GB defense is maddening. We don't need to score 31/game like Atlanta (or whatever it is) with our defense, but can we get to 24/25?? If so, we might be playing in this game next year.
subpar defenses that subsequently got ass-raped by better offenses.
This Atlanta offense is sick though, I wonder if our defense could've contained it a little. The two little RB's would probably get 150+ yards catching passes though.

can you imagine OBJ, Plax, rookie year pre-injuries Shockey, Tiki, Toomer and Jacobs together along with the 2005-20010 O-Line and (of course) Eli? Unstoppable.
never had such a dynamic offense even with Roddy White and Julio Jones in the past.
The playcalling and design are incredible.
Offensive line wasn't this good and they didn't have a two headed monster at RB. A solid run game is probably more important than having a 2nd stud WR.

Wouldn't classify Coleman as "little". He's much bigger than any Giants WR.
This is pretty much how I wanted things to go after Green Bay knocked us out. Was a GB fan last week, but this week ATL. Rooting for ATL to win the whole thing.
Still wish we knocked out Green Bay and Dallas even if we would have lost by this much.
I don't know about that...our D, when healthy, can match up well with any team. Our O is the problem.
The game would be closer but in the end this version of the NYG would likely lose by double digits. Something like 28-17 or so. Those 2 RB's would have put a ton of stress on our LB's in pass coverage and I doubt we'd generate enough heat on Ryan to get enough stops defensively.
Green Bay and Seattle continuously shot themselves in the foot the past few weeks. Atlanta's defense isn't any good. I think both AFC teams are well-equipped to play "keep away" with the Falcons.
The Falcons are winning the Superbowl. I don't even think the opponent matters. No one is stopping this offense. There are no gimmicks, no tricks. This is a straight ahead, dominant offense. You can't stop it.

It's also interesting that 3/4 's of the QB's left are of Irish heritage.
He's going to be placed on MUTE.

Plus the Pats after that if I win those two. Then on to the Super Bowl where it will all be decided for the whole pot. Just need to get past today!

let's see if GB can match. Turnovers will determine the game.
wish the Gmen do the same this yr.

Yes on both counts. Imagine having Jones and Sanu as your WRs?
Heh, no reason to even compare their OLine to ours. Not much of a comparison.

Wouldn't mind that.
They have very good RBs, which causes teams to play a lot of man against them.
Lol good call at 5 minute mark on the first quarter
Even we had a lot of guys open especially early. We just didn't execute.
well their defense played like crap in the first half against the Giants.

Nice mostly veteran Oline that stayed healthy all season.

They are still only down 10-0 so far.. We also had them on the ropes in the first half :(

Stop. Defensively the NYG are better but their offense is absolutely loaded. The 2016 NYG would probably be 13-3 or 14-2 with that offense.
These last two games just infuriates me more about how terrible OBJ was. Fucking bum.
ATL has a good shot in Houston

I don't know about a mile. But, Jones has one drop today and had made every other play his way.
If Beckham made his catches early against Green Bay the Giants may have blown the door off Green Bay in the first half as well.

Houston has a retractable roof, so that might work out for them.
just wow
?
They beat the Raiders, broncos, Bucs, panthers and saints on the road. They lost to the Seahawks by 2 on the road on a non call penalty.
A better version of Calvin Johnson
Again...look a the O Line for Ryan. Perfect pocket, plenty of room to step into his throw. And it starts with Mack at center!

on the Falcons!
So the score would've only have been 24-6
Still think the screen isn't going to be particularly visible for a lot of the stadium
I hope Atlanta trashes them too. All the Big Ben slurping around here is nauseating.

Two decent games out of 9 now. And I thought that Pittsburgh/KC game was sloppy as hell. Really GB/Dallas the only classic this year.

Nope. Not being able to score points puts too much pressure on the defense.
