Need to finish the back-to-back strong by beating the mongrels from Philthadelphia. They played last night also, losing to the Devs, 4-1. These division games mean a ton, and the Islanders need to put a quality effort in today...the Flyers have lost five of six, won just two of their last 10 and three of their last 15.
Boychuk and Clutterbuck return today. Mayfield to the pressbox. The forward sitting for Clutter is TBD. It should be Gionta that sits, but given Nelson's disappearing act, could be a game to let him get his head right. We'll see.
Thomas Greiss returns to guard the nets today; he has allowed two goals or less in 9 of his last 10 games.
Mathew Barzal keeps his torrid post-WJC pace with another 2 goals and an assist in last night's win over Vancouver. In his 18 games played for the T-Birds, Barzal is 6-22-28 (1.56ppg). Highlights are
here. His 3rd period goal...ridiculous.
Looks like Ladd will be ready to return for Tuesday's game.
Let's Go Islanders
/alternative facts
D: Leddy-Pelech; Hickey-Boychuk; CDH-Seidenberg
I know I'm probably jinxing things, but Greiss is now up to 140 minutes of shutout goaltending.
Good, no goal so far. Now a 5 on 4 as the 5 on 3 is over.
Just waiting for that shitbird Gudas's usual scumbaggery.
I'd like to see us take the body more. The strategy of relying on Greiss to save everything can only go so far. 154 minutes of shutout goaltending; impressive.
And who let all the Philly trash into the building? Was it bring a homeless person in for free day?
Off Pelech's skate and in, unfortunate against these scumbags.
Isles need to play more urgently here. And maybe PHI will finally get called for one of the multitudes of slashes or hooks they've been getting away with all game.
Great pressure on the PP
And someone needs to set a few insect traps to allow these Flyers fans to crawl into.
So, a point, but sucks to lose the other, especially to these fucksticks.
