Like him much better than Leonard Floyd from a year ago.. Any shot at all he is available at 23rd overall? SY'56? Kid would be a beast of pass rush specialist.. Does he fit our scheme?
If I had to say yes or no, I would say no. He is the fastest, most explosive edge rusher in the class and he's had some solid production. If he has an elite-level combine, he could be top 5 to be honest.
His negatives are size and a lack of variety to his pass rush repertoire. He can't do much when rushing the inside shoulder. He gets locked up by good power blockers.
There are also some issues off field that need to be looked at.
I don't think he should be an option for NYG at #23.
Its a terrific year at inside linebacker with Alabamas Reuben Foster (6-1, 228), Floridas Jarrad Davis (6-1, 238) and LSU Kendell Beckwith (6-2, 247). According to one scout, they all can play every down and might all go in the first round. "They play the way you want to see linebackers play, he said. Theyre violent tacklers. They all can run. They can all play in any scheme.
Two scouts said Foster is about on par with C.J. Mosley, the former Crimson Tide ILB who went 17th to Baltimore in 2014.
Reuben is a machine, man, said one. He lost about 15 pounds this year but he has been above 250. Broad-shouldered, tapered, thick trunk, thick-legged guy. He can fly. Hes got rare trunk and core explosive power where he can just unload on people. And he can cover.
Junior Zach Cunningham (6-3, 230) of Vanderbilt was compared by one scout to Seattles K.J. Wright in style of play. Hes a modern inside backer, said another scout. Hes an athlete. Hes pretty (expletive) good but its not even close to Foster.
Another first-round candidate would be Ohio States Raekwon McMillan (6-1, 240) if he declares.
Two more players from top-ranked Alabama, Tim Williams (6-3, 252) and Ryan Anderson (6-2, 255), head a shorter list outside.
Williams is a dynamite pass rusher, said one scout. He gets off the edge Anderson is a very steady, good football player. He doesnt look pretty but he makes plays.
Senior Vince Biegel (6-3, 245) of Wisconsin is headed for the mid-rounds, according to one scout. He may be too small, said a scout for a 3-4 team, but he plays hard.
His teammate, junior T.J. Watt (6-5, 247), should be taken a round over two ahead of Biegel if he declares. He should stay in, one scout said. He needs to get bigger and stronger.
a week ago that said he's Randy Gregory 2.0 due to off-field issues. Said he's failed multiple drug tests.
Unless this proves to be untrue or overstated I doubt the Giants even consider him in the first if he's available for them and they have him highly rated.

Saw that as well. If true, he may not be on the Giants' board.
Too many talented players in this draft to take a gamble early
I always want best value but how in hell can you look at the Giants and decide to take a LB and draft OL. Maybe Reese fixes the OL with free agents but if not, it's a no brainer
Of 1-17-17. They claim that Williams failed multiple drug tests in Alabama. They compared him to Dallas' Randy Gregory. They will not be surprised if he drops to the 3rd round. Gregory has been a total disaster in Dallas with series of PED suspensions.
The greatest ability is availability. Buyer beware.

I don't think he should be an option for NYG at #23.
If he was there at 23 would you take him for this defense? Is he a comparable player to Floyd from a year ago?
I would rather go with one of the sideline to sideline, 3 down MLB.
They started talking about him from 2:35 minute and compared him to JPP (damn!). I say risk a second or third round on him. Can't be worst than Clint Sintim and Marvin Austin😁

One day the Giants may once again care about LB. God knows if I'll be alive but he's can pray.

And
It looks like this is the year that the draft has the talent.
Nice to hear the TEs are also stacked in this draft.
The OT upgrade is the key to offseason....5 years and counting that our OL has been a liability. Shameful
They really love OJ Howard. It is a very good listen.

Just want them to use it on the whoever they think is the best player instead of picking for need.

Because they has a great DL and a great secondary but folks still want them to use high draft choices on LB. Mind boggling.

Which the Giants don't do.
