Outplayed by Palmer last year, under 200 yards against Hawks in 14 and 49ers the year before that, an average game against 49ers in 12 and of course outplayed by Manning in 11. Yeah he's great but he's gotten a bit of a pass with now 5 years in a row of season ending marginal to bad performances.

Rodgers didn't drop 6 passes.
Rodgers didn't fumble to be recovered by Atlanta in the end zone
Rodgers didn't not recover a fumble on defense that was right in his hands
Rodgers didn't drop 2 easy INTs
Nelson with broken ribs, Adams with a bad ankle, Allison with the hammy
Rodgers did have the flu this week
If you think this game was lost because of a poor performance by Aaron Rodgers all I can say is "I thought you gave up drinking years ago?"
At the end of the day. The Pack took the L.
Again, it is hard to win teo Super Bowls. Hard to win a road conference title game. Takes a very special QB and team.
I'm not sure of your point rocco. Rodgers is arguably the best QB in the history of the game. Certainly top 2 in the league.
No doubt, great player, good enough this year to lead his squad to a title game defeat.
I was just pointing out how difficult it is to win two titles. To win road playoff games as an underdog.
Rodgers stil has time to achieve that feat, some QB's already have.
You're an Eli homer.
I didn't know.

Just pointing out some facts.
Just having fun, I enjoy rooting against Rodgers so I really enjoyed the game today. Is that such a crime? Worked out perfect since they took out the Cowboys and went home today. Played out the way I wanted it too.
Today wasn't his fault but he didn't help much either. Yes the WRs were banged up, but he still had a very good OL, Cobb, Cook, and Montgomery before it got out of hand. Nelson and Adams still made plays. GB defense is bad but ATL isn't much better. GB needed Rodgers to have a good day and he just wasn't at his best.
His "defense" gave up 44 fucking points.
In addition to points made by other posters, the fact was he got his team in FG position (only to miss), and also drove his team down the field only to see his fullback fumble on the fucking 1 yard line.
And yet, Rodgers somehow laid an egg.
Holy shit....

Potentially HOF? He could walk away today and still get in.
He also was whining to the refs and threw up his hands on the sidelines after the long TD to Jones...can't do that kind of stuff when you are behind...
He did take some hellacious hits but nothing like Eli in 2011 NFC Championship game...
And he had a pretty good running game down the stretch converted WR or not...
In fact his own season turned around earlier in the year when they started to run the ball...
I also think the biggest score of that game was a pick six by a nose tackle or something. Rodgers got carried in that title game and failed in his other two attempts.
Some guys rise up for the big game, others do not.
Thanks for beating the Cowboys though.
Dude... are you actually implying that Rodgers is not one of the best qbs going and one of the best qbs to ever play the game. If you are, you're lost. And this coming from someone who thought Rodgers lost a little on his fastball the last two years. He got it back and then some these last three months. Amazing player.
Just go away please...

won it all too. If I am not mistaken that was the game when they beat the bears with a third string Qb after Cutler tapped out three minutes in or something.

Rodgers is a great QB, and he was good enough this year to bring his squad to the NFC title game and made some great plays doing it.
I like watching him lose because it is annoying to hear that he is "from a higher league" or " he is going things on a field never seen before" and so on. Fun watching them get their ass kicked and him complaining and bitching the whole game. Also entertaining to see the excuse parade. So, when they win it is all superman Rodgers, but when they get run out of the stadium it is the shitty supporting cast.
Guy is a great QB no doubt about it.
Seems like an odd thread to me.

Is not the best QB or top 3 all-time. I think he's comparable to Steve Young in a ton of ways. Still very good and potentially HoF, but the love is a little over the top.

Ok I guess, but he's not a lock best QB all time or top 3 all time.
His offense didn't do shit today until mid way through the 3rd quarter vs a suspect defense. He deserves some criticism.
Also, one can say Rodgers did not play particularly well today, but still feel that he is a very good player, and that he was not the root cause of their failure today.
Why must everything be black and white?
As for the "best player ever" stuff, it's not an argument worth having. What's next? Are we going to discuss who would win a fight between Captain America and Batman?
and possibly the worst defense in the NFL giving him no chance
Do not see how you blame Rodgers here
I see how he does it. Where there's a will, there's a way!
That's what a relentless pass rush, supported by good coverage can do against any quarterback.
Unfortunately the Packers got a short field on their sixth possession and took three plays to score. Then right at the half came the "Hail Mary." Not surprising that a young team with little playoff experience would give way.
If the defense had not been missing two of the "golden seven," JPP and DRC out, Snacks, Vernon, Jackrabbit, Collins and Apple in, the defensive collapse in the 2nd half might not have occurred.
The offensive bungling, even more than usual, could be partly blamed on the playoff inexperience of that group. In fact on the general inexperience of those players playing together as a unit against anyone.
If management does not bungle this offseason, the Giants will beat the Packers next year.

This is pretty much how I see it.
but that wouldn't really encapsule Rodgers since neither Batman or Cap are "elite".
If you're talking Aaron Rodgers you'd be better off mentioning Thor vs The Hulk.
You could save the Batman vs Captain America comparison for Eli and whomever...

one of the most dynamic stretches of QB play the league has ever seen.
A 'pass' isn't required.
That's if you completely ignore what Matt Ryan has done over the same stretch
Come on.........
Freeman and Coleman
and some guy named Julio Jones..........
Near perfect with every throw? Really? That's about as ridiculous a statement as saying he "layed an egg". He most certainly was not "near perfect with every throw". The hyperbole here is getting absurd.
But keep acting like a manchild though, it really inspires people to value your opinions.
That's not true. James Starks was a rookie that year and emerged down the stretch and ran pretty well through their playoff run.
Lol! How the hell were they scoreless until mid way through the 3rd quarter then?
Not me!!!! See I am growing as a poster!
This year, there was no real defense except the Giants & Seahawks....but those teams didn't have the level of offense to be better.
Looking at the big picture, this was the best opportunity for the Packers to go to the Super Bowl in a long time.
The year he won the Super Bowl, the NFC opponents were Philly, Atlanta, Chicago who weren't special in any way.
To Rodgers credit he probably carries the Packers more than any other QB carries their team in the NFL. When the Packers get a real ground game and/or defense, I'll be the first to call them an SB favorite.
Also, one can say Rodgers did not play particularly well today, but still feel that he is a very good player, and that he was not the root cause of their failure today.

Well Superman would beat both of them, so that's a really dumb question to begin with. People sometimes...
2 weeks off broken ribs?
Very weird way to view his performance.

How so?
Well at least my gag reflex is working. *SIGH*
Best post on here, imo..
Rodgers was beaten to a pulp until the Hail Mary changed everything, an incredible emotional swing for both teams, even if we were only down 14-13 in the 3rd..We had that swing in 2012 division playoff..It just caught up to us a little later than it did the Pack in 2012..
Rodgers is a first ballot HOFer imo..If he had Eli's OL this year, he may not have made it through the season. Of course, being able to run as he does is a big advantage over Eli (to have)..
The one team I am really getting tired of is the fucking Pats. Can some team from the AFC East RISE UP JUST FUCKING ONCE and win that division? The Jets, Bills and Dolphins should be ashamed of themselves. I would be embarrassed if I rooted for any of them. Win a fucking division just once in a decade for fucks sake.

I no longer make the weak division argument as the Pats have been shown to do well outside the division..But, it's sure nice as hell to have a perpetual bye 3-4 games into the regular season virtually year in and year out
For context, in Brady's entire regular season and playoff career, his opponents have NEVER scored 44 points and have only scored 36 or more points 7 times.
QB's only have so much control over a game's outcome. Blaming Rodgers after seeing the state of his offense and defense doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

The packers are winning we don't mention anything about the talent around him. Because he seems to have a ton. And one of the best lines in football.
He has a converted WR running the football. Don't make up a narrative for the sake of arguing.
1 Missed FG by a guy that hasnt missed in a while, and
1 fumble at about the opponent's 3,making 10-10 instead of a demoralized 0-10,could have changed the tone of the game into a shootout.
The D gave up so many 3rd and >5, especially on Out routes plus 3rd and 1s where they had guy stopped but someone Falcon would run up behind the RB and give the final push to get the 1st(something I often see our OL NOT do).
As much as I am not all caught up with AR, he did what he could.
FWIW He took 2 late hits that our D would be draped in yellow for, with a shoulder shrug from officials.
Right on point.

What's "prolly"?
