The last two weeks the GB secondary has been exposed

BestFeature : 1/22/2017 6:46 pm
While, the only thing OBJ exposed since the season ended was his chest in Miami. Antonio Brown also had a big game against the Chiefs. I hate to make another thread about OBJ but I've never been this disappointed in one player in any sport in my life.

What an odd way to attack Odell.
Is this going to be what the next 8 months are like on BBI?

I don't see what's weird. I know that the Cowboys and Falcons have better support for Dez and Julio, but notice how they didn't drop TDs and 3rd down catches. Nothing to do with the supporting cast.
You should have listened to yourself

"I hate to make another thread about OBJ". Not too late to delete your fleeting, ill thought out comment.
Unfair to OBJ
Marty866b : 1/22/2017 6:52 pm : link
He played like crap in the Packer game but there is no receiver in football that gets bracketed like Beckham. Jones was singled up most of the day because there are other weapons on the Falcons and the safeties can't play back because they have a good running game.We have one weapon on offense and every team's defenses are designed to stop him.
The kid struggled in his first playoff game.

Much like a lot of young WR's do.

Can we get over it?

need to be told that Miami didn't have anything to do with the game except to give some people a chance to whine.
Julio Jones, in his first playoff game, managed 8 catches for 64 yards

with a drop and no points.

This atlanta team represents the 7th best scoring offense in NFL history.

They scored over 500 points.

yeah, they're pretty good at exposing defenses.
Odell would need to drop 15 passes to equal the shitfest
shockeyisthebest8056 : 1/22/2017 6:59 pm : link
that was Eli Manning's first playoff game.

No, you can look forward to the debate around Memorial day on whether Ketchup or Mustard on a hot dog is preferred. For good measure, the discussion will be re-hashed near the 4th of July.
I heard Brown scored his first

playoff TD vs. Miami. While the boat thing was really dumb and you better deliver or you will catch a lot of of shit after it, I'll give OBJ another chance.

put the excuses and comparisons to defend Beckham. But, he was one of the worst players on the field and his drops were super costly in the most important game of his career to date.

Hopefully the Giants can get back to give him another shot. But, right now those are the facts.

Eli exposed the GB secondary 3 weeks ago

You are a Jackass.
The Giants exposed the Packers too

They just couldn't catch the ball when they did. Completely choked.
Last two games were in a dome, no?

Nobody's making excuses. Plenty of great, winning players sucked in their first playoff games. Facts are not excuses.

WR gets the blame for us losing in his first playoff game. Says a lot about the lack of talent on our offense.

Only when the Packers inexplicably went single high on the Giants to start the game. Once they came to their senses and went two deep, Giants stopped doing anything.
Not scoring more vs GB
KWALL2 : 1/22/2017 10:41 pm : link
Is more about the playcalling, OL, and QB than one WR.

We dropped 2 TDs on the same drive. It costs us 4 points.

There was a 3rd down drop that ended a drive (things every team can overcome).

Giants couldn't score vs a pathetic Packers defense (and it goes back much fiurther than the last 2 weeks). That isn't on Beckham.

Well yeah, it kind of is. Its not like he lit it up after the first two drives, and struggled to get open later in the game. He's part of the the offense much like Eli and Ben. It's on all of them.
Their secondary has been shitty all season

no doubt it was team collapse down the stretch. Things may have been different though if the Giants punched one or two TD's in early. The Giants were dominating the game
for about 27 mins and due to the drops did not even have a two score lead.

Beckham had three drops, all costly, and was a non-factor outside of those errors. he choked in the biggest spot of his career yet and let down the whole team. It is a one game sample size and i hope the Giants can get back soon to give him another shot, but he came up small in the biggest spot. I find it strange how many excuse this and defend him.

At the very least there should be some slowing down of the best WR in the game talk until he makes some plays in the big games. The best raise their play when it is all on the line. Time will tell if he can do this.
Not agreeing with OP, but it does represent how bad the

other receiving options on the field are for the Giants.

If nothing else, these last two GB games tell you why Victor Cruz should never play again and why Reese somehow has to get another #2 receiver and a capable Tight End for Eli.

Soon.
The Giants were unable to exploit any of the

They couldn't exploit those poor run defenses or those weak against the pass.

Odell with Antonio Brown.

Brown gets to run routes while his QB is protected by two All-Pro linemen and more often than not, he gets to run routes while defenses have to worry about the best running back in football. Throw in a 6'7 pass-catching tight end to keep drives alive.

Something has been exposed

and really the past 2 weeks with Dallas too is that they exposed that Packer D to the tune of over 70 points. We managed 13. Yes the conditions of the 2 games were much more controlled and better than our game in GB. However if we want to be elite in this conference, and at 11-5 I want that to be the next step we have to improve this offense. The top teams in the conference can put points on the board. Sure if we keep this D together and get them out in our elements in December it will help, but facing Dallas in Jerruh's palace or Atlanta in a dome we are simply going to have to score points. 10-13 won't do it.
OBj
Johnny5 : 1/23/2017 9:32 am : link
On the teams you just listed has a lot more weapons alongside of him and better blocking to utilize them.
The same excuses for Eli should apply
Thunderstruck27 : 1/23/2017 9:42 am : link
to Odell. Without proper blocking how is he supposed to get open? It takes time to run a route. If he is double covered shouldn't that leave a weakness somewhere else on the field for the offense to take advantage of?
If I'm gonna blame someone that is on their rookie contract for that loss it's gonna be Eli Apple. He got torched the entire game.
