What the Giants need is speed on offense.

Archer : 1/23/2017 9:07 am
On offense, other than Beckham, who challenges the edges?
The Giants need to add players on offense who can stretch the field. In watching Atlanta there was so many holes exposed in the Greenbay's defense. The middle of the field was wide open.
The speed needs to be up and down the lineup. A big wide receiver with speed, a running back that that can break a play, and a TE that can run a seam route.
Even the offensive line needs some quickness. The Giants need linemen who can pull and get to the second level.
When your QB doesnt have time to get those speedy WRs the ball...

it's a moot point.
I think

they should go for slow and small :)

wanting better players. Whether they are fast or strong or tall doesn't matter, just get better players.
It is symbiotic

Having a better line is essntial but so are the playmakers.

They have to block. Do anybody really think the Giants receivers don't run fast enough? Look at the Pats weapons. Who is the track star?
Sounds like

the Giants should have made a push for Sanu last off season.
They need pulling linemen? So Flowers will be a backup, because he sure can't play tackle, doubt he has the quickness to pull and hit LBs on the second level.
Flowers is seriously the siamese twin, 8,000 lb elephant/gorilla in the Giants locker room. I dont even think Dante Scarnecchia could make him into a starting T, left or right.
Sanu

Is getting paid 5 yr., $32.5M deal with $14M guaranteed.

To me it's essentially a three year deal. But I look at it on this side. He's more of a slot guy and someone to run more gimmicks around (similar to Giants own Dwayne Harris).

And his cap hit is $7.4 next season. Still want that? He's good, just not that good. You are putting his attributes with the likes of Julio and how Kyle Shanahan uses him, Robinson and Gabriel's speed downfield and on screens (Giants have used screens for Larry f'n Donnell), and lastly the awesome duo at RB. Giants don't own any of that except OBJ and minor glimpses of special talent from Shepard and Perkins. They desperately need a REAL TE and another outside who can go deep.
I'd rather

see the addition of a big physical receiver.

Agree. Their #1 priority is to fix the line. They won't see another SB until the O-line starts winning the battles in the trenches.

I hate this about BBI. Yes, everybody knows that we need to improve the offensive line. It doesnt mean it's not of any importance to improve other positions on offense. It's not an either or situation.
nope

what they need a is large big TE or WR

Eli plays best when he has a big target.. this year he had no one and it showed
I think what we need are some white wide receivers

Need for speed? The Ted Ginn phenomenon
Ivan15 : 1/23/2017 11:42 am : link
Plenty of guys have super speed. Most can't catch.

Maybe you want Rainey to be the starting RB. Is he fast enough?

The Giants need real football players with quickness and good instincts. I don't care about speed as long as they are fast enough that they don't look like fools on the field.

His best years - 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015 - suggest otherwise unless you're one of those people who re-imagine Nicks into being Burress (or even Randle) size.

They definitely need some sort of non-scrub TE though, given how teams relentlessly play them.
No, the OP is incorrect...
EricJ : 1/23/2017 11:59 am : link
we need strength.

Our O-line gets pushed around like a bunch of girls. We have no WR or TE that is muscling his way into position. Using his body as a shield against the defenders.

THAT is our immediate need.

Tavarres King is one of the fastest guys on the team.

speed? Running back? WR?
How about 2 new starting OL and switching Flowers to the other side?
It isn't rocket science
Do your research - four finalists - four strong OLs
Four highly rated QBs

I got sick listening to Reese saying offense was a mystery
Not to us! Same OL -
Points and yards last year came in mop
Up and come back crap

He did nothing to improve it this year
That's why offense stunk
Period. End of story.

That's because you don't know how good/bad you have it at the other positions until you fix the line. A great O-line can make all-stars out of some. For example, do you think Dak would have had the same successful rookie campaign behind the Giants line?
Hopeful

I like Adams at TE. The kid loves to block and does fairly well at it. His hands are a bit suspect at this point in time but the kid does run a 4.6 at 6'-5" -250.

One WR I will be anxious to see this summer is Darius Powe. At 6'-3" - 220 lbs. he is someone who could help on the outside. I know that we will be acquiring more talent at WR, but if we went into next season with this lineup I'd be okay with it:

OBJ........................Shepard.............................................................T.King............
R.Lewis..................Cruz/Harris........................................................D.Powe.......................................B.Edwards...........................................................K.Norwood....
