Rangers take their 2 game win streak and 7-1 record on the second half of back-to-backs into tonight to face the struggling, but still dangerous, and still fresh in our 2014 minds, Los Angeles Kings.
The King expected to be in net, no word yet on #13s 'lower body injury' - but Puempel will likely step in tonight for Purple Hayes.
The team, and Lundqvist, have been much better on the road than at MSG and so we need to get out of this Garden funk tonight (5-8-1 last 14). I'll be there and at 0-3-1 on the season I will be demanding better.
Of course, it goes without saying that Washington, Pittsburgh and Columbus continue to win every night so let's keep pace, understanding a WC-1 wouldn't be the end of the world. But for now, just keep accumulating points.

Kings pounded the Rangers. Even had possession numbers. But they didn't finish due to Hank and lack of finishing talent.
If the Rangers are going anywhere this year, they'll have to buck possession stats, rely on Hank and use their talent to finish at a previously unsustainable rate.
Obviously this is the January Rangers but this team has some very good finish, not sure they can weather the storms that come when it's playoff time.

Well.... yeah. At this point 48 games into the season they are what they are. Likely WC-1 or Metro #3 bound, they'll have an uphill climb even if through the Atlantic. I think this group has deserved a shot come playoff time, but I certainly wouldn't be trading away picks and assets for a player or two at the deadline as I think we're a couple of players away not just one and in general I don't think March trades work out that great at least in AV's system, as it seems they need an offseason to get acclimated to the style of play.
Trades I would advocate are more (steals) like Mika for Brassard -- trades that set us up for the next 2-3 years, or deals that better position us for the expansion draft to lose a Nick Holden (JAG) or Klein instead of a Fast.
