Manning to Manningham

Rjanyg : 1/23/2017 9:13 pm
In this time of year I love going back to watch old highlights of our Giants. Tonight I watched America's Game of Super Bowl 46. The pass from Manning to Manningham was unreal.

We Giantfans are fortunate to have Eli Manning as our QB. He is under appreciated IMO by many and he not only works hard at football but puts forth great effort in the community being named a finalist for NFL Man of the Year.

I hope Reese gets Eli a better offensive line, a Tight End and another big target at WR. He has another run in him.
Last week, I heard so many comments

from pundits that the Rodgers throw was "the best they had ever seen", "who else could make that throw?" And while it was truly amazing, I'm alittle surprised THIS THROW didn't get mentioned.

Homer in me coming through, maybe....
I agree

Manning to Manningham was as perfect a throw and catch as is imaginable. And under immense duress on both ends of the play.
Eli s resume speaks for itself

He never had the luster of the great quarterbacks in the league, but during those two play off runs he was pretty special
The Tyree play

obviously has a place of its own in SB history but skill-wise I've always thought the Manningham/Manning play was as perfect as it gets on so many levels
that Manningham pass was the single best throw I've ever seen

Abso-fucking-lutely perfect. He dropped that thing right into MMs hands as if he was flying above him. No margin for error, a fott to either side, possible pick. 6 inches long incomplete, or towards either defender, MM gets killed.

Funny thing: Eli said they had that play earlier on the other side ad probably would have been a TD, but MM ran the route to close to the sideline and Eli had no place to safely put the ball so he threw it out of bounds
I'm also tired of the Rodgers sphincter licking. He's great but

again, he lost the big one. Of course, it's the rest of the team's fault when they lose, his doing when they win, according to the media.
Comparing the two plays

I do think Rodgers pass might fairly be considered the better of two great throws, as he was on the move rather than in the pocket. Although he did not have a pass rusher in his face like Eli did.

Manningham's catch however was far better, under a lot more duress.

Both great plays, but Manning to Manningham still shades it for me.
Eli is a classic example
