Desperate to ween my son off his Zootopia addiction (which is far from a bad movie, but 50 viewing should suffice), I browsed through iTunes and spotted Pete's Dragon. I checked out the trailer and said, "Holy shit, is that Robert Redford?" So we pulled the trigger.
Wow, that movie was way better than I expected! It gets a bit conventional at its climax, but prior to that it has an unusually understated, poetic, evocative feel... kind of like Where The Wild Things Are. And the song choices are very surprising -- it may be the only movie to include "So Long Marianne" by Cohen.
Worth a look.
First off Zootopia is one of the best animated films out there. My 2 year old was heavy into it for a few months and I've enjoyed every viewing.
Here is a huge surprise for you - check out Storks.
I saw the trailer and thought it was going to be horrible and the movie is the exact opposite. It is a really excellent film. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Someone shit the bed on putting that film in the marketplace.
Band of robbers
King jack
First Girl I loved
Hunter gatherer
Ant man
Captain fantastic
Granted, it wasn't Citizen Kane, but it was very entertaining and good for a few laughs. Not putting it in the 'very good' category, but it was fun and a huge surprise for me, I went in expecting close to zilch and was surprisingly entertained.

Same thing here. I had no desire to see it, but it was pretty funny. The Rock was perfect for that role.
Starring Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen
A story of redemption.
Enjoy
Yes, which only enhanced my surprise. The original sucks if you're older than 8.
I thought Rango was pretty good. Same thing -- Johnny Depp doing more than anyone might have expected and he's great.
I think all the Madagascar movies are a scream. John Malkovich has a good turn in one of them. "Drew, Barry, more power." "Nicholas, cage them." Shit's still funny.
Damn, thanks for the recommendation.
Huge rotten tomatoes rating.

My wife has been dying to see it and it finally releases on Blu Ray on Tuesday. We are staying in on Valentines Day so i'll probably incorporate the movie with dinner since I believe is on demand with Amazon.
