NFT: Places to eat near MSG

JerrysKids : 2/9/2017 9:18 pm
Hey taking the wife and kids to the Knicks game tomorrow night. Any recommendations of places to eat before the game? Hoping to park near MSG.
It's not a fancy restaurant

But whenever we go to the Garden we pregame/show at Stout on W33rd. About 1/2 a block up 33rd from MSG on the left.

Pretty good beer selection and food.

Brother Jimmy's. good atmosphere, close to the Garden, and good food (barbecue) at affordable prices.
I went to Uncle Jacks on 9th ave a few weeks ago

It wasn't too bad. It's a steakhouse so not sure if that will work.
Love Uncle Jacks

Pricey for what it is imo.

Also it's a decent walk to the Garden (it's on 40th and 10th)
I second Stout

I go there often enough. Close to Garden, good food and reasonably priced.
You can't beat the proximity

of Cafe 31 which is right next to the Garden and they have a kid/family friendly dining area and menu.
Speaking of msg / dolan

Despite my ticket prices going up 5% every year over the past decade and beer now $14 per and of course the $20 prime rib sandwiches while the NHL salary cap has prevented Dolan from investing in the team - I've noticed this year far fewer beer vendors (the beer garden on the 100 level for example is permanently closed).

I was told by msg workers this week it's because they couldn't find enough staff (eg Dolan cutting costs). Is this a joke? Is it for all events or just hockey?

I won't get into why there are the same amount of women and men's restrooms at events when 85% of the clients are male.

Enjoy the Knicks game with your kids!!

I was at a college basketball game this year and I'm pretty sure it was open, but I could be misremembering.
