This. But also remember on 3rd and long, many times Snacks would come off the field and Hankins would be in, with Okwara playing DT.
anyone that thinks this defense will be as good with Thomas/Bromley in there, instead of Hankins, is crazy....so in that sense, Reese has not drafted his replacement, as he has done in the past...
I don't think Hankins is irreplaceable. He's a good-not-great player.
But swapping him out for a draft pick is just running in place. It's not an improvement, and you're just creating another need that has to be filled with a pick that could have gone to another position.
I agree. But, I also think Bromley is better as a 1 tech and Thomas is better as a 3 tech.
