-Nothing really notable in Knicksville
-Pistons reportedly gauged the market on Drummond/Jackson
-Denver shopping Mudiay
-Alex Kennedy says "very, very little" chance Melo to Cleveland happens
Around the league-
Frye 21 and 10 in place of Love
-Wiggins 41, 3 and 3 on 16-29. He really plays well vs. the Cavs aka his "ex" team. He's been ridiculous lately in general averaging 31, 4 and 3 on 56/46
-Towns 26, 8 and 4
-Cousins 40, 12, 8 assists 2 blocks
-WCS 8 and 3
- Ingram 2-7 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists
i think mudiay could learn a few things from him
denver has cap space and needs to get to the salary floor..
also i know for a fact that mudiay thought he was coming to the knicks and wanted to be in new york, he was told the knicks were going to draft him
steve kyler has the screenshot
Love his intensity. Maybe the only current Knicks outside of the two young bigs who could have fit with that Ewing/Oak/Mason/Starks crew.
Don't ask why, but I was up and watched the last few minutes of the Lakers Kings game. Holy shit, is lou williams good. Amazing contract, top notch scorer, underrated play maker. LA could easily get a few firsts for him.

ewing and oakley would kick his ass on the days he doesnt bring it
mudiay is only 20 years old

I get that Rose doesn't have much value, but ouch

I don't have much hope for Mudiay. That said he is only 20 and if he's only costing you 2nd rounders then of course you do it. Just doesn't make sense for Denver to sell low on him when his trade value is lower than Okafors.
And yeah thank god the Knicks didn't listen to me and take Mudiay. Could've been a train wreck.
All the bottom feeders want to sell their vets and get assets for the future. But non-GS teams don't want to give up anything of value when they know they're not getting into the Cleveland/SA tier, let alone the GS tier. If Lou williams was having this season 3 years ago, he would've fetched a few first round picks. Same with Brook Lopez. But no team is a Lou williams or a brook Lopez away from anything.
Then there are the teams that are unhappy with their young players (Okafor, hezonja) and its difficult to gauge how much value they really have.
And then there are the teams with bad contracts (Portland) that will just be selling to get under the tax threshold.
I'd be interested in seeing a current scouting report on Mudiay. How much of his stink is related to the jumper? Where is he on offense? I wouldnt give up a lot for him but I'd tale him in a swap for a vet.
As for the Knicks, I'll be pretty disappointed if we go to Cleveland on Feb. 23 with the same group we have now. We should at least cash in on KOQ's higher value, and dump Jennings for whatever we can.
I think Rose will chase the $$, not due to greed but because the big $$ contract is affirming of his self-perceived status as still a superstar.
Totally agree. Unfortunately Denver has a big salary cap issue next season with the addition of Plumlee, so I don't know how much they're going to splurge on other FAs in the offseason.
They really lucked out with Jokic as being a point center. I think they ultimately run with Murray and Harris at the 1 and the 2 spots.

I don't think it's just the jumper, his passing skills were compared to John Wall and it's abysmal, especially considering his TO rate. I think his absolute ceiling is the 2017 version of Derrick Rose but he doesn't quite have that touch around the rim.
If I am the Knicks, and I can get Mudiday on the cheap - thats a gamble you take 100% of the time. If it doesnt work, you dont resign him. Nothing gain, nothing loss. But again, he is only 20 and its not like he hasnt played some good game. His problem is he cant shoot inside the arc. While shooting 30% from 3 isnt great, it isnt disasterous. Shooting under 40% from 2 is.
Again, he would be a junior in college this year, so there is room for growth.
from 0-3 ft: Russell .548, Mudiay .503
3-10 ft: Russell .468, Mudiay .246
10-16 ft: Russell .347, Mudiay .278
16-3pts: Russell .368, Mudiay .333
3s: Russell .349, Mudiay .308
Russell is also posting more assists with fewer turnovers despite playing for a significantly weaker team.
If I were the Knicks - I would do that. Use mudiday as your backup PG this year. ANd try to trade Jennings.
If KOQ is getting you a 1st in this draft sure. But if the choice is between a few 2nd rounders or a 1st next year for Mudiay, I take Mudiay.
This brings me back to my point from a few days ago: why exactly is Plumlee worth more than KOQ? Portland got Nurkic and a 1st rounder for Plumlee, I feel like KOQ would've been a better fit next to Jokic and isn't going to be making $15M next year for Denver, who is trying to manage expenses this summer.
How do you go from 39% 3 point shooting to 30% us beyond me. But if that shot is falling he's a damned good player, could pair with KP at the 5.
Gallinari has reportedly received interest from the Clippers, Celtics and Rockets, and of those locations, Los Angeles and Houston would be the best potential landing spots. As for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Gallinari will not play, and with Wilson Chandler (illness) being listed as questionable, we could again see Juan Hernangomez in the starting lineup. To be clear, nothing is imminent on the trade front for The Rooster, but this is a situation we'll be monitoring closely.

"The Pistons are open to moving Reggie Jackson at the deadline, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN.
Lowe states that while the Pistons are unlikely to part ways with Andre Drummond, sending away Jackson isn't entirely out of the question. Thus far, Jackson has been linked to New Orleans, Orlando and Minnesota, and out of all those potential destinations, Orlando would probably be the best landing spot as Jackson would easily be the No. 1 option on offense there. If he does end up getting traded and Detroit doesn't bring back a guard, Ish Smith would likely emerge as Detroit's starting point guard, so he's someone to consider stashing away in deeper leagues."
"The Trail Blazers are reportedly open to moving Allen Crabbe, Evan Turner (hand), Al-Farouq Aminu or Ed Davis if the right offer comes along.
Portland is looking to either acquire some draft picks or save money, so it wouldn't be all that surprising to see one of these guys dealt at the deadline. Portland currently owns the second-highest payroll in the NBA at $119 million, and that number will spike to $137 million next season when C.J. McCollum's extension kicks in. It's hard to justify spending that sort of cash when you're fighting for the No. 8 seed out West.

"The Lakers are reportedly actively shopping Lou Williams, and it seems likely that he will be moved by the trade deadline.
At 30 years old, Williams just doesn't make much sense on a rebuilding roster, and with a cap friendly contract, the Lakers should be able to get some nice return if they choose to deal the Sixth Man of the Year candidate. Sending away Sweet Lou would also open up minutes for Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell, but Williams would likely lose some value playing outside of Los Angeles."
Knicks should 1000% be in touch with the blazers if they're can get draft picks attached to someone like Evan Turner.
Also Simmons is probably not going to play this year. So the sixers force Hinkie out with Colangelo and he proceeds to do the same exact shit Hinkie would've done anyways. Nice!!
For those confused as to why Dolan doesn't want to start rebuilding or stop trying to win now, financially he doesn't really have an incentive to.
Yes. 100 million in 2015-2016 from a new MSG TV deal.
Mudiay's broken jumper severely limits his upside, and it's tough to have such an ineffective shooter as a starter in today's NBA. While Mudiay may be available, there doesn't appear to be much interest in him around the league. As for today's game against the Timberwolves, Mudiay is listed as questionable, but it seems unlikely that he'll take the court. Stay tuned.

It's really one of the plum positions in the NBA. How many teams own their own arena, and regional cable network, and enjoy A+ prime real estate? The team is a goldmine. If and when he decides to sell, he'll easily top what Steve Balmer paid for the Clippers.

We need someone to catch Dolan making either racially or sexually discriminating remarks so we can test this theory!
i was a big mudiay guy going into that draft, would not mind taking a chance on him qhen he is still only 20..
really wouldnt mind adding hezonja either..
With all that said, I don't see the knicks very active until the deadline for that reason.
36.5% FG
Which one is Emmanuel Mudiay and which one is Chris Duhon?
Second, i feel like Forbes tends to undershoot selling prices. I.e. they punch in numbers and it spits out a value, but in practice the teams sell at a premium to Forbes's estimates. Whether because the teams are a luxury good for the rich or because Forbes's formula is off (e.g. fails to take tax advantages into account), I dont trust the numbers.
I think the Knicks would sell for 4+ billion unless the MSGN deal is terrible. I know MSG stock is just at 4.2 bn, but I think that accounts for the belief that Dolan isnt selling. Being a NY team sports owner is a real status symbol for the guys who have everything, and I think a number of these uber rich media/financial guys would bid heavily on the team. At some point the team gets expensive enough that you dont have a ton of buyers. Only real concern on buying I think is the possibility that TV ad revenues decline for sports to more normal levels.
