Rambis cant still be here. I'll be pissed if he returns next season. But if he does, Hornacek is getting fired sometime before 7/1/2018 and the new coach is not putting up with Rambis, even if Phil is still around.

Along this vein, if we get a #1 or with one of our #2s, I would draft the most dogged defender under 6'9 available. Regardless of upside to do anything offensive. I want someone nasty. Someone who will inspire teammates to defend HARDER, lest they be ashamed that their teammate is so thoroughly outworking them.
This team straight up lacks physical toughness. You have some intense guys. Rose and Noah, certainly. KP and Melo intermittently. But so many guys shy away from contact. Melo will take contact offensive, but no on D. Reverse is true for Noah. KP isnt strong enough. Rose is worried about $$. Lee is totally unwilling to eat a foul and get to the line on a shitty close out. Even Willy I've see shy away. Knicks need a lot more sandpaper in their lineup. We dont need to play like a 1990s team, but we're very soft even for 2017.
If RHJ is still on the trade block I wouldn't be opposed to giving a future first (not this years) for him. He's an in-your-face type player on both ends. He can't shoot but he's not tony allen on offense. Offers play making and elite rebounding for a 2/3. Can run him as a 4 in small lineups as well.
I can't believe how badly Phil has bungled the Melo situation. If he played it right he could have found a destination for him but it's been completely botched. Regardless I really hop Rose is bought out soon. I can't stand watching that guy play and I think he's alot more detrimental to KP's development then Melo is.

I will lead the ship for tanking, but if we are replacing Melo with Kuz and Rose/Jennings with Baker, you can expect struggles from KP and Willy.
Thats why Im not against Rubio. He's super ball dominant, and will at least give those two an easier time without pressure to take bad shots.

I realize your a fan of Rose but what's the purpose for keeping Rose on this team after the deadline? Push for the playoffs? Watch him put his head down and go to the hole to get his stats in hopes of a contract? I assume and truly hope he's not in the Knicks' long term plans Wouldn't it be better for him to sign on with a playoff team if he was bought out? I admit I'm biased because I can't stand watching the guy play but I don't see any need to keep him on the team with 27 games to play...

There is a market for Melo (and it should be a big market) but the ridiculous NTC neuters the Knicks ability to trade him.
More than that, the NBA has become a joke with most teams refusing to even compete/improve because of the Cavs and the Warriors. So that limits things for the Knicks even more. Melo is still a premier scorer. Not as much so now because he's stuck on the shitty Knicks. But put him on a better team and he'd be a big threat. And while he's not a great defensive talent, even that is overblown.
And Phil devaluing publicly the main talent he's trying to trade is the most mind boggling thing ever. For that alone, Phil is a shitty team President.
