Really feel like he can be the answer at WR next season as one of the top 3 guys in 11 personnel. Instead of allocating cap or a high draft pick at the position, this might be the best option from a value standpoint. Anyway, King had some interesting things to say in this and he sounds like a great guy who is working his butt off. Former four-star recruit who led the nation in yards per catch his Senior Year at Georgia...

Hopefully 2017 receivers would be:
Outside WR's: Beckham, FA/Draft Pick, King, Lewis
Slot WR's: Shepard, Harris
Have the new receiver compete with King and Lewis for that outside spot but don't count on either of them to be a starter unless they prove themselves
Agreed. The Giants are his fifth team IIRC. Lewis was also ahead of him on the depth chart for at least part of the year. He made some plays, so bring him to camp. But this team needs another WR., or at least a TE that can threaten the seam.
He has that chance, every day, every practice, every weight room session, every meeting. He has to seize the chances given. It isn't handed to him! Someone else has the position he wants and if he wants it, he has to go take it away from that someone else.
Good point.

not getting him in the lineup more. The guy has speed and can stretch the field. Having Cruz out there really posed no deep threat and it made us easier to defend. With Cruz on one side and King on the other, the safeties will have to sit back even more opening up the underneath routes for us.
Maybe he sucks and just made a couple of plays. Typically if a guy blows in practice he won't play. Maybe he is a one trick ponly and can run a go route and nothing else.
yeah maybe...but lets see him prove that he sucks. What did we get out of Cruz this year? Would there have been a huge loss in production trying King at that spot? Your comment sounds a lot like someone who is afraid to fail by trying something. Here is what we know... when the guy has been in the lineup he has made plays for us. Whether it is the regular season or pre-season.
I would never expect this guy to be a #1, but he could become a quality outside WR who is great on the ancillary stuff (blocking, etc) and occasionally makes important plays (move chains, tds) while not hurting the team.
This is more important than it might seem, particularly if we secure an important pass receiving TE. If that should happen, the other outside WR is always going to rank as #4 or #5 read anyway.
Agree. There was lots of evidence he could contribute in preseason last year and had some catches for us down the stretch.... but you don't get to his age and be playing as sparsely as he does if you're an NFL caliber receiver. I can't think of many (if any) players at that position who just "get it" at that age.
