Mel Gibson is mulling joining the DC Extended Universe … as a director. Warner Bros. is courting the actor-director to helm Suicide Squad 2 and the sides are early in talks, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. No official offer has been made nor has any commitment. Sources say that Gibson is familiarizing himself with the material. |
I guess talent wins over being a human piece of shit in all walks of life.
Also - suicide squad was the worst movie I have watched in years and I routinely turn on Nicolas Cage B movies to watch on the treadmill.

The first one was a steaming pile of corn encrusted shit.
Your ability to paint a picture with words is beyond compare my friend. I can instantly see what you're talking about.
Calling it like it is and aiming to please, sir.
I'm hoping Wonder Woman will buck that trend.
DC movies seem to be taking a page from 1990s comic books, which admittedly is not the best era to crib from.
I think the worst Marvel movie is either Iron Man 2 or Thor. I would take either over Suicide Squad or Batman v. Superman.
Example: Locking Ayers out of the editing room for Suicide Squad

Eh, they're adults, I'm sure they could work something out if they wanted. Polanski had A-listers dying to work with him.
During the Q&A session, the moderator asked, "So is this getting close to a deal or is it a first date?" To which Gibson replied, "It’s kind of a first date."
"Couple updates on the SUICIDE SQUAD director search since I posted after a few calls," Kroll tweeted. "First if Mel wants it, it's his." He added, "Will and Mel actually wanted to do THE ACCOUNTANT years ago but old regime didn't want Mel but shows how much Mel want to work with Will.
WB turning corner came from media outlets who were on the JL set
Pretty sure he referenced wet backs a few times, definitely used the N word. I was under the impression he flamed out hard enough after the phone call, rants, racism, etc.... that he was "blackballed". Turns out his ability to direct very good movies won out handily.
It's probably a reference to the transcript of the recorded phone conversation with his wife...

but he makes the project notable. I still don't by WB turning a corner. They only want to hit their timeline and nothing else. Affleck may be out as Batman, rumors buzzing daily about him being fed up with everything at WB.

Maybe, but the constant rumors of Affleck wanting out kind of go against that. Not that Affleck is some big loss as an actor, but to not even want his creative input seems ludicrous.

That rumor came from John Campea and I like him a lot as far as movie news goes, he even said not to fully trust that rumor but we'll see
