I am in a keeper league. We get to keep three players. It is a 12 team points head to head league. The scoring is like this:
1 point per single, BB, HBP, RBI, run, and SB. 2 points for a double, 3 for a triple, and 4 for a HR. Minus 1 for a K.
1 point per inning piched and K. 5 points per save. 10 points per win. Minus .5 per hit, BB, and HBP. Minus 1 per ER.
We set lineups once a week with the following positions
C
1B
2B
SS
3B
OF
OF
OF
U
SP
SP
SP
SP
SP
RP
RP
We have about 6 to 8 bench spots.
As you can see, having a top pitcher who can get wins is huge.
My options are:
Chris Sale
Josh Donaldson
Trea Turner
Justin Turner
Carlos Correa
I am co-owners and we are both leaning toward Sale, Trea Turner, and Correa. Donaldson has been a stud for us but I would rather let him go a year early than a year too late. Plus, that lineup took a hit losing some players.
What do you think?
that if you do the work you can find pitching later. Never give up a hitter for pitching.
That said, Donaldson is juicing and will most likely get busted soon. Depends on how much Toronto has invested to protect him.
Trea Turner, Donaldson, Correa should be the keepers.
Sale was the third best pitcher last year and would have finished as the 18th best hitter.

I share that philosophy in a daily/category league where pitching is devalued. I don't share that philosophy in a weekly/points league where starters get 10 points per win.
Sale, IMO is never going to be Sale again. Can you trade him for top dollar? Just my take. I think Sale has peaked and wouldn't want to get stuck holding on to him.
Evaluating someone else's team without the full access is next to impossible, wanna be bold? Package Sale and Donaldson for the future of your franchise, I believe they both are not going to be valued any higher than they are right now.
Stay away from Harper ( he's as over rated as they come) but if you could grab Trout and a closer ( assuming saves are a category) or maybe even a SP like Manea for Oakland, throw it out there. I think both Donaldson and Sale could be moved at prime value this preseason.
Just my opinion but...
but go bold man.
I think both Sale and Donaldson would command top price and neither will be worth it later on.
As I mentioned, stay away from Harper, he'll end up wasting millions from the Yankees for the next 10 years but you could target Bryant ( the real deal) with props like Sale and or Donaldson. Find an AL fan and take advantage.
Good luck.
I dont trust sale in boston
