Moved to LT the following year. Agree with Doomster. I think the original plan was for him to start at RT his rookie year. It's rare to see a LT starter as a rookie but Beatty got hurt so .....

Signing a 35 year old lineman is merely an attempt to solve a problem. It does not necessarily solve the problem, contrary to the language used in the thread.

All historical statistical evidence points to it being unlikely to succeed. How many LTs can you recall sucessfully starting in the NFL at that age.

Whitworth may be the exception that proves the rule, but this is in reality the riskiest of potential solutions.

to guard. He won't be any better on the right side than he was on the left. He's toast, teams will put their best pass rusher against him all day. His only hope is if he can play guard.
