This day of coverage has been cool and all, but I wonder why the NHL hasn't realized yet that it could be soooo much better if they beefed up the in between set analysis. I mean, hockey experts dressed respectfully and talking about the game? Where is the entertainment in that? They need more glitzy sets. And why aren't these analysts walking around on set with hockey sticks or something? Where are the self-centered ex-players that just want to bring attention to themselves? Thats what fans really want to see, not good clean hockey and analysis.

I love how they highlighted all the American players in each of the games (I suspect that's why they picked the teams they did - at least in part) and even the coaching staffs, etc.
hockey seems to be experiencing a resurgence (or at least a surge) in youth hockey in the USA, boys and girls, and events like today definitely help.

Once a year. Not sure what NBC calls its bi-weekly sunday afternoon games but it always bothered me that no games could be played while that particular game is on. There should be more weekend afternoon hockey, especially on sundays in the winter so people's workweeks arent screwed up by attending and kids can go to some games. Game vs Washington this past sunday was a great example, but was only on then because NBC carried it.
