The Giants dropped Cruz- are they allowed to resign him at
a bargain price (if, of course he agreed)? He loves NY and I, for one, still think he has something to give at the right price. (Plus I like players who like us)
Yes, he can meet with and sign with anyone at any time because has cut.
I was originally curious to see if the Giants were going to offer him a vet minimum type deal after they cut him. I think it is time to move on, but had they done so, it would not have shocked me.
if Cruz is smart he'll retire while he's resonably healthy.
Giants let Nicks walk and re-signed him later, Jacobs walked and re-signed, Manningham walked and was re-signed (wound up on IR before the season), but point is all these guys were let go and re-signed - all after signing elsewhere and being cut, but knowing the system helps Cruz down the road.
So I can see him winding up back here if injuries come in to play or if he doesn't get much interest elsewhere, but not playing special teams hurts him, since most WR depth needs to fill another role.
I just wouldn't count on it, but definitely wouldn't be shocked to see him back in a Giants uniform before he hangs them up for good.

He's a smart guy, has outside creative and business interests already. Move on.
He needs to keep playing until he can't. He'll never make enough money elsewhere as he will from the NFL and I doubt he really has any business acumen.

He loves the game. If I had the ability I would try to play until the wheels fall off.
