Say this for Man City, for better or worse they have certainly been entertaining this season. Tons of attacking talent, a horrific backline and goaltending. And those have all been on display today.
To recap: Currently down 3-2 at home, Sane and KDB great, John Stones and Otamendi shockingly bad, some controversial (to say the least) penalties given or not given, Pep's insistence on playing out from the back continuing to burn him.
Champions league has not lacked for excitement so far this year.
Regardless, the repulsive backline play from City is a glaring need to be addressed.
B, if you read this, don't know if you saw that Gabriel Jesus is likely done for the season after breaking a metatarsal against Bournemouth last week.
3-3 now, Aguero with two. City has to find a way to not concede now.
Also 3-2 Atletico over Leverkusen. Quite a day of matches
Stones and Otamendi are pure shit.
And this ref has been horrific.
Great comeback by City.
That Mbappe kid is a stud. Just turned 18 in December. They're calling him the new Thierry Henry.
The thinking is Pep has conceded he cannot get Stones to turn down the aggressive way he plays defense so his risky style of play may be better suited if he has support behind him instead of being the last line of defense. We'll see if that happens though because I don't think he has the passing range to play in the midfield even if it is in a deeper role.
