Yay or nay?
I'm gonna have to say Yay and let Hankins walk
His run defense is outstanding and elis window is closing
I would front load a lot of the money so he can be cut in 3 years if he's disappointing
5 years $75 million, $40 million guaranteed.
Yay or Nay BBI?
Yay for me.
Sign an older vet DT to replace Hankins, or ball out and get Campbell as the 3 tech either way..
Then draft TE early, Sign a vet WR2, sign a vet OL, draft An OL
Plus sign AP and draft RB late.
Rest of the picks for DL and DB depth.
If they pulled all of that off it'd be a GREAT offseason IMO, and the perfect follow up to last year's signings and picks. The two year rebuild would be pretty much nailed.
I do think he will get more guaranteed though.
A consolidation thread isn't fair to the people that have put the time into their posts.
I must say this thread is unrealistic.
The key is where Eddie Lacy goes. With LaGarrette Blount a potential cap casualty, if Lacy ends up on the Patriots ( which is the inside rumor) there's no way Minny let's AP walk,
I'd much rather have Latavius Murray, who is more likely to be available and signabke than an aging, PR problem AP.
That said, I mentioned earlier that JPP is worth keeping but not at the expense of filling 2 needs for the money. We need a finisher on the edge. Pass rush is a top priority but we can do better than JPP for the money he'll command.
and he won't suck with Bellichick.
I guess my vote is nay
We can do better than JPP with the money.

What is that?
Intelligent? Supposed to be funny? I must be missing the point? Is there one?

Don't read too it too much Nancy, no deep meaning, it's just what your ridiculous whining reminded me of, that's all.
There's a risk with any player getting injured. We're so used to Eli never missing a game that many never think of the possibility that with one play in season game 1 Eli could be put out of action for the season.
In a league of 32 teams, with only one winning the championship, you have to take some risks, and this isn't a particularly great risk.
The other thing is, I don't think they are a guaranteed SB contender this year. They still have major ??? on the OL, no TE, no FB, no true # 2 receiver and are thin at RB. And a tougher sked this year too. It's entirely possible they could actually be a better team by season's end but have a worse record.
I want no part of Reiff. Over the last 2 seasons, he's surrendered the 5th most QB pressures in football with 95. That's a lot. But it's not the 128 surrendered by our very own Flowers.
$20 Million Signing bonus
$8 million 1st year salary guaranteed ($13M cap hit)
$9 million 2nd year salary guaranteed ($14M cap hit)
$11 million 3rd year salary guaranteed ($17M cap hit)
$14 million 4th year salary, becomes fully guaranteed if on team on March 1st of that year ($19M Cap hit)
$16 million 5th year salary, becomes fully guaranteed if on team on March 1st of that year ($21M cap hit)
Team would save $4 million by cutting him after year 3
Team would save $11 million by cutting him after year 4
