Will delete if people think this has to be political but I have to say.. um why? He's really a sports "expert" you want to listen to every day? That's the best they can come up with? David Lee Roth 2.0.
If Chernoff were to give him Mike's job, I would NEVER listen/watch WFAN again. This man is one of the most incompetent & deceitful people I've ever had to deal w/as a citizen(on a state level). I go/listen to sports & sports talk as an escape from the real world. This a-hole did less, spent more on himself & hurt the real people of NJ. If you reward an incompetent criminal, then Chernoff has his less than a man!
was there ever any evidence he knew about/was personally involved in Bridgegate? Don't believe so.
Lousy governor, sure. Bizarre, fanboy level embrace of candidate Prez. But the degree of loathing he engenders is surprising.
I'm fairly liberal but have never felt it. Although perhaps have a soft spot given how mercilessly he emasculated and exposed the vapid nothing Senator from Florida.
Unsure if he knows his sports, but seems to have the personality of a guy who could regularly listen to himself talk for hours and hours.

Well there was certainly evidence. Kelly, who was convicted, said Christie knew about the lane closings and signed off in advance (though there is a difference between knowing about the closings and knowing WHY there were closings -- if you're charitable). Wildstein -- the star prosecution witness/turncoat -- says Christie knew as the closings were happening and made several jokes about it, and in particular mocked the mayor for his safety concerns and no one returning his calls and that Wildenstein, a known political hack, wouldnt do anything political (at a WTC memorial service on 9/11). The federal prosecutors pushed that story at Kelly's trial. However, CC says he had no knowledge of the closings prior or during, albeit no under oath.
That is evidence. Evidence isnt proof. At a minimum, he created an environment where this happened -- his whole senior staff was in on it. I've worked in shitty organizations, and you really have to wonder what was going on there that all the deputies said "you know what would please the boss? fucking over taxpayers and making it hard for first responders to move in a town where the mayor refused to endorse the boss." And of course how come the mayor couldnt get his call returned?
I would never listen to this repugnant human garbage. And how is this fair to people like Malosus who work their way up the ranks? Could Chris Christie really be the most qualified person for the job? I doubt it.
And to those people who think he didn't know about the bridge closings, come on. The guy has long history of being a mean spirited bully. People really think something like closing the lanes on the GWB for days would escape the approval of Christie? It's beyond incredible to think he didn't know about these closures. Ridiculous really. Guy belongs in jail.
Francesa and Christie, two great reasons to never turn on WFAN
Anyone that unaware of how ridiculous they look with what they are wearing (He easily could have had a better fitting uni on) does not deserve to be talking about anything
who seem extremely agitated by him work in the real estate industry or how much of this is put out by the Camden Machine. This is why I always thought it strange that he endorsed Trump and that they seemed to be such friends. I believe when Christie was a prosecutor he first started getting notoriety by busting up phony eminent domain cases. I thought this put a permanent cross hairs on his back as far as the real estate people were concerned. Christies predecessor Corzine (one of the biggest crooks NJ has ever seen - and that's saying something) was the darling of the Wall Street Fannie May and Freddie Mack cabal and had paid off the Camden machine. Also heavily allied with the Clintons. We still don't know all the $h!t he was into but we do know that a $h!t load of money ain't where its supposed to be. Yet I don't detect anywhere near the level of disgust with him. To me Christie will always be a man, out of his time, who would not falsely patronize his constituents on behalf of large financial interests in order to further his own financial or political interests. To me at that time this made him very unique as a man who stood against the fashion of time but with his constituents. I believe personally that some of the de-industrialization of the Midwest was fostered by, together with automation, Wall Street avoiding amortization costs that they would have incurred had they had to re-capitalize plant infrastructure instead of shipping the plants overseas. The supposed Washington allies of the unions betrayed them and worked with the Wall Street crowd to facilitate this. This IMHO is why we have Trump in the White House right now.
As for the bridge it wasn't right and I don't know what really happened. I personally suspect from his initial reaction to it that Christie didn't know much if anything about it. I don't live in Fort Lee or anywhere near there so I didn't have to put up with it, thank God. But I know the state or the country didn't have to pay anywhere near the cost of cleaning it up as did what it did cost to clean up some of the other things that were going on at the time.

While US Attorney he batted 1.000 with respect to public corruption cases. Something like 125 for 125 cases brought that resulted in either a plea or conviction. Camden and Newark (pre-Booker) never forgot.
And Overseer, lousy governor? Tale of two terms. I'll take the first term Governor Christie over every governor since Tom Kean. NOT the second term. Hubris coming back to haunt him?
Whats with the hate. Who cares if they r jets fans. They gave WAYY more time to the giants this yr. They r fair, AND at least they talk sports! Especially baseball. Boomers show can go an hr without sports except for the updates. N mike is just an old grumpy man now. Dunno y hes so popular, mayb he should thank mad dog. He gets on my nerves like crazy. N he takes a day off every other day. Which fucks me up, getting ready for bro n dork n I get stuck with crap most of the time. Some replacements r still good, its just I was looking forward to something n Once again, Mike takes off. N yyet he comes in when hes actually sick n u cant understand shit! Im not a mets fan either, n I still choose Joe n evan. I just like baseball talk in general. Hard to get now, gotta get sirius.

But otherwise, I'd listen to Chris and Tiki.
Mike's show is great, and Christie could work as a successor. Let's look at the tape of hilarious factors that make Mike an entertaining listen, and could work for Governor FUPA:
Oblivious to the fact that the entire world hates him?
-Check.
Loves to spend hours taking calls and bloviating his unqualified opinion on material that has nothing to do with sports and his listening audience doesn't care about?
-Check.
Not a Jets fan, in violation of the usual requirement for getting a show at WFAN?
-Check.
Fat?
-Check.
Supported POTUS?
-Check.
Mike and Chris have quite a bit in common. Christie will have to refine his accent a bit nore to the point of incoherence to properly wear Mike's pants. Burping his diet coke into the mic a little wouldn't hurt either.

I hate that this stat is tracked with respect to prosecutors. What it leads to is under-prosecution. So many prosecutors wont bring charges unless they're a slam dunk (although under prosecution is better than over prosecution).
Also it's generally a cooked stat. What % of those were filed with a plea in place at the same time?
Note this isnt about CC -- I have no idea what the specifics of his cases were. Although I'd say that a US attorney sets direction and approves filings/pleas. I cant imagine he had time for much hands-on litigation.
He's been on the outs with the Trump team for months now.
he's not. he has nothing to do with it. FAN announced this.

But can someone explain to me why Francesa gets to name the person who takes over for him?

Oh. Thanks. The thread title makes it sound as if Christie is on Francesa's short list.
Christie, not McEnroe.

Anytime robbie. Mike said on the air last week that he has no input, but that he knows that Bro and Evan have the inside track. Mike is off this week.
I guess you could also say that about Mike, but I guarantee I wouldn't listen to him.
Fuck him. I will never listen.
He will go the way of David Lee Roth when he "replaced" Howard Stern in 06.

You probably have to listen in Miami to get any Giants news.

Speaking of Miami, is Sid Rosenberg still working there? Guilty pleasure, I actually like him.
Bingo!

....Drumroll...
It's Chris and Tiki, they're ready to go!
On the FAN, New York's Sports Radio!
Chris is on, Tiki's on!
They'll get you the Sports as best as they can!
It's Chris and Tiki, on the FAN!
Sports Radio 66, (and 101.9 FM) W-F-A-N, NEW YORK!

That's why it can't happen. 95% of the talk won't be about sports
there's always other sports talk out there at that time if want to listen.
NY Giants flagship station...to boot..lmao

He was talking last week about having meatload with Trump at the White House recently, so not completely out.
Apparently, the meatloaf is damn good at the White House.
