We have these periodic threads that recommned shows to watch.
On a recent one there were several votes for The Leftovers. I just finished binge watching both seasons. What a work of imagination -- of Odyssian proportions.
I am dreading having to rewatch some of it to get to Season 2?
I actually liked Season 1 a lot.
There are some episodes that are a little slower and a little "eh" but overall, I loved it. Season 2 is better but I was in love with the show after S1. I feel like most people didn't really start to become huge fans of it until S2.. which I get.
HBO and it's about a small town in upstate NY where it's citizens cope after the planet lost 3% of its total population (vanished in an instant for no rhyme or reason), some of which resided in the town. It's dark, and character driven with extremely well done writing and acting. The score is brilliant as well.

Thank you, UConn!! let's meet at the Wagon Wheel soon for some IPAs!!
You may not be old enough -- but aspects reminded me of Patrick McGoohan in The Prisoner.
But stick with it though. Some shows take some time to get going. This show is phenomenal and season 2 was absolutely fantastic.
And yes, you need to watch all of season 1 before starting season 2.
And how would you summarize the plot, tension, social and/or political (or whatever) premises?

I thought Season 1 was good, 2 was superlative.
Hard to look at politically except the dangers of mobs.
The plot is not linear and dystopian dark. As I said earlier, aspects remind me of The Prisoner. Good acting and intelligent script
