Toured the NYS Capital yesterday, beautiful building and great tour.
There is a Black History Month exhibit on the second floor that is very well done.
First floor there is a flag collection - many from the Civil War. Years ago there were several flags displayed that were captured during the Civil War - interesting seeing battle/regimental flags from the south, I was told that they were moved to the NYS Military Museum in Saratoga Springs.
The Military Museum is located in an old Armory building not too far from Broadway.
If you find yourself in the Albany area I would suggest checking out both the NYS Military Museum and the NYS Capital.
