I did not want to start the actual deadline thread (that is for the veterans here). Anyway - a few smaller deals have occurred and I am sure there is some anxiety from all our hockey fans leading up to Wednesday
Michael Stone was traded to Calgary for picks
Ron Hainsey was traded to Pittsburgh (former Canadien/Ranger prospect Danny Kristo was involved)

and in a smaller deal (swap of former Ranger defensemen's sons). Keegan Lowe was traded for Philip Samuelsson.
pjcas - a lot of Canadiens alumni/news here.
Something has to give on the defense though, wonder if Klein is going.

According to TSN....Brendan Smith going to Rangers for pair of 2nd rounders
Tweet - ( New Window )
Pass. Major pass. I don't care if he's Bobby Orr reincarnated (wait he's not dead), pass.
I don't like the rumored price, but Smith is immediately a top 3D on this team and it wouldn't surprise me to see him play first pair on the right side given the dire situation on the right.
Pending a trade call (not official until then), DET will get 2nd rder and 3rd rder, both in 2017, from NYR for Brendan Smith.

With at least 3 teams in mix, Halak trade may not occur until tomorrow. But all signs point to him being moved.

Just off phone, can confirm Jimmy/Adrian report - source tells me Snow offered two variations, meeting demands. Avs stalling at the moment
And even as Gorton seeks help both on defense and up front (Vancouvers Jannik Hansen, anyone?), a sellers market in which renting Dallas Patrick Eaves somehow cost Anaheim a second-rounder that could become a first, portends a low-drama deadline on Broadway.
A 2nd (Ottawa's?) and 3rd, yea or nay? And putting aside all talk of Girardi
