“Domestic results in the current campaign have placed the Club’s Premier League status under threat and the Board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the Club’s greatest interest,” the club wrote in a statement. “It was never our expectation that the extraordinary feats of last season should be replicated this season. Indeed, survival in the Premier League was our first and only target at the start of the campaign. But we are now faced with a fight to reach that objective and feel a change is necessary to maximize the opportunity presented by the final 13 games.” The club said that Assistant Manager Craig Shakespeare and First Team Coach Mike Stowell will take charge on an interim basis until the new permanent manager is found, with Monday’s Premier League game against Liverpool their first task. |
They sold the heart and soul of the team in Kante, everyone got paid and got BMW i8s, they got their trophy, lost their hunger and realization that they just were not good enough sunk in quick.
Hes better off, he got his money, made history and will hopefully manage a top 6 club in the EPL or back home in Serie A
I now hope Leicester go down.
I bet they don't think he knows how to win relegation battles
Quote:
The team has lost five straight matches in Premier League play – six in all competitions – and has not scored a single goal in 610 league minutes, a span of nearly seven full games.
They've been brutally bad. I can see this either way. The players aren't responding to him anymore, but it's up to them to do so, and he's less than one year removed from one of the greatest upsets in sports history. Ownership is desperate to prevent relegation, but can his replacement do so?

These are some pretty brutal facts about their season, thus far.

They've been really bad outside of UCL - half-assing it most games outside of maybe Wes Morgan. It's not unfair to say a new voice was needed. They sold Kante but didn't sell Vardy, who was the guy to sell high on.
Ranieri's coached something like 9 teams since 2000. There's a pattern there. Leicester is a once in a lifetime story, but it also took a number of crazy shit happening to England's top 6 to get there.
I think 1938 Man City is the other.
They are in a very bad run of form right now, but winning the league with a team most picked to be relegated should earn some equity. I hope they go down.
