NFT: NY Rangers vs Maple Loafs - 7:30p

B in ALB : 2/23/2017 5:28 pm
So the Rangers traveled up to Canadian Hipsterville for a tough road game against an improving and young Leafs team tonight and none of you toilet stains wanted to step up. So here you go.

After getting cuckolded in our last thread by pj and that foreskin loving crack smoking mental defective rover golden shower, we need a big bounce back effort from everyone. Even davisian, despite his need to be baked out his mind all the time while living in some Aurora trailer park.

LGR.
You want B on that wall.

The teams that comes into the playoffs playing the best hockey generally go deep in the tournament. Let's win tonight against a good young team on the road.
Take care of business on the road tonight

Team has to be a little ticked they didnt come away with 2 points Tuesday night. Come out fired up and net 4+ goals. LEAVE NO DOUBT.

To be honest
bigbluehoya : 2/23/2017 5:50 pm : link
I'll be more focused on how the team looks than the score at the end of the game. NYR are about 12 points up on WC2 and dangerously close to 3rd in the Metro. I don't believe in tanking but if they can play well and lose a few along the way they'd be well served IMO.
Well said hoya
Kyle in NY : 2/23/2017 7:24 pm : link
Montreal game was a good example of that. Played well, Price stole the game, get only a point out of it. That works

Sounds like Clendening might be in for Klein based on warmups.
Seems like some of those Atlantic teams are starting to play better
MetsAreBack : 2/23/2017 7:32 pm : link
Boston, Florida... Ottawa seems to have staying power and Montreal when healthy will be a tough opponent.

I suppose i'd rather play road warriors through that division, but there's no easy road come playoff time and you are going to have to beat Pitt or Wash in a 7 game series eventually anyway.

The chips will fall where they may, and if we are beaten by one of them early in the playoffs again maybe it will get mgmt to take a more serious evaluation of this current Defense than it has to date. Positive thinking?

Anyway, lets go grab two points tonight. I want zero stress as I attend both games this weekend in Newark and home against CBJ.

Enough of the mutual admiration
Stufftherun : 2/23/2017 7:53 pm : link
bromance stuff, this is a hockey gamethread last time I checked.

Nash in all alone stoned and Kreider robbed ...please tell me it won't he one of those nights. Ok, I get it, a point or a loss isn't the worst thing but it's not easy to be half a fan.
Leafs are very exciting to watch
5BowlsSoon : 2/23/2017 7:56 pm : link
They are shaky on defense and sometimes in the net but they can score 4 or even more goals many nights. Having said that, I think Rangers rebound from tough loss v. Montreal.
Kreider had all

Drew.
Hard to play a period that well
Kyle in NY : 2/23/2017 8:24 pm : link
and not get a goal. Andersen was incredible
Lundqvist is simply brutal with the puck on his stick
MetsAreBack : 2/23/2017 8:41 pm : link
Really magnitizes our D issues getting out of defensive zone
Girardi holy shit
MetsAreBack : 2/23/2017 8:42 pm : link
And bailed out by lundqvist
Another generally good period
MetsAreBack : 2/23/2017 9:12 pm : link
But can't finish, giving up a ton of high quality scoring chances mostly off our own fuck ups, and the power play still stinks.

Leafs have number 1 PP in league - given talent and experience level there is zero reason theirs should be so much better than ours. It's scheme and confidence... Both on coaches IMO.
I'm not one for a hot take
bigbluehoya : 2/23/2017 9:19 pm : link
But I don't like the Miller-Hayes-Grabner line.

Not enough sustained possession in the OZ. The shooting percentage is unsustainable.

It's probably been the most consistent and dynamic line over the last month or so. They've got good chemistry.

It's a good idea but it's not remotely the same as winning in regulation. Just make reg wins 3 points already and fans who understand the game can sit back and really enjoy this more.

2 points. Been pretty hot lately. I don't know why, but I feel this could be our year. I just think we still haven't seen this teams best hockey yet. When the team all clicks it's going to be dangerous, and Hank finally looks locked in.
Completely disagree about stars of game
MetsAreBack : 2/23/2017 10:24 pm : link
Obviously Hank one and Anderson two. No brainer

But Zuccs was clear third best player on ice not Miller just because latter followed up an atrocious shot from Hayes on an open net.

Hands down, full stop. Could make a credible case for his Z partner way ahead of Miller, never mind he plain flubbed a wide open solo on Andersen

Haha. Well was thinking when it went to OT pga that isles fans couldn't be happy about that third point. But your boys seem to be taking care of business regardless. I think we are going to see both squads playing games into the latter half of April and that's exciting.

Zero problem with it if regulation wins are awarded 3 points. But it's bullshjt that the only reason the Penguins lead us in the standings this season is hat they get more games to OT and win them in 3 on 3 because of their elite forward talent
