I had a feeling nothing would happen at the deadline. Big whoop. Overall a busier trade season than normal. Ibaka and Boogie didn't even happen at the deadline. Noel makes Dallas an interesting team and hopefully, at the very least, better than the Knicks.

2) Waive Rose. He doesn't want to be here and you'd be doing him a favor. Sign a D leaguer PG and see if you can get lucky.
3) Trade Melo this offseason. Whatever it takes but you can't start the season with him on the roster. Move on.
4) Keep your cap space to be able to act as "bank" for other teams looking to create cap space. Look at the assets Philly and Boston got by doing this.
5) Try to trade Lee or anyone else to get another pick in this draft. Get as many young players as possible around KP because you won't hit on all of them.
6) Play the young guys all next season and likely end up with another high lottery pick.
Simple and clear path to a rebuild for this team. I highly doubt Phil follows it but one can hope.
Or if PG is destined to go to the Lakers, send Melo there in the offseason to ensure PG comes over.

3) Still a chance Rose is retained (which again would cause me to not follow the 2018 Knicks)

You got games against bad teams filled with young players who will play hard, much harder than the Knicks.

Spot on about everything here. It all comes down to a lack of trust in Jackson. He probably would prefer to just miss the playoffs then completely bottom out when anyone with half a brain knows this is wrong. Picking 4th/5th is an enormous difference than 10-12th.
His relationship with Melo couldn't be worse either. So instead of reaching common ground with him late in the year and letting him rest while young guy play, Anthony is going to be trying to stick to Phil and win games. He should have also cultivated that relationship to work together to find him a new team and make it mutually beneficial. Instead Carmelo clearly just wants to give him a big Fuck You.

porzingis is averaging close to 20 points and 7 boards, shooting 45% and 37% from 3, everything is up from the year before, so how is he hurting kp?
it is utterly ridiculous to say rose and melo are having a negative effect when his offense is better than last year, his defense is where he is struggling
