Not sure if this has been fully released yet or not, but I saw it last night. Very intense and good movie, reminded me of 13 hours in the way it was done. I also read up afterwards and other then the fictional character Wahlberg plays everything else was pretty spot on. Highly recommend.
I don't need to see it on the big screen when it seems like it just happened in real life.
And I live here in the Boston area, had family impacted by it - my cousin ran the marathon and many of my family members were there waiting/cheering him on, plus I hated the phrase "Boston Strong"
just my opinion. No interest.
Probably like the 9-11 movie for sone people in NY during 9-11.
Think they were trying to get to NYC
I think they just were nut jobs and didn't have any remorse or care for what they did and wanted to watch their hysteria. Or they were just stupid and didn't think they'd get caught and went about their lives? I remember also reading they were going to leave the country at the end of the month and I guess they thought they'd be off the grid by the time they were identified. When the pictures of them as suspects leaked to the public this is when they acted and thats why they planned their exit strategy to NYC. They shot the cop at MIT to get his gun not too long after the photos were released. They were planning to leave for NYC and then kidnapped the Chinese man, who then escaped and notified Boston PD.
If I remember correctly. Haven't thought of that incident in years.
Not for nothing, but that line of thought would eliminate an extremely large number of movies.

I won't watch any of the 9/11 movies, you're absolutely on point. Still raw. "Too soon." But I watch WWII and Holocaust movies regularly, so who knows what happens in a few decades.
I heard good things about United 93, but it's a very different angle of the day. One day maybe I'll watch that.
it occurred less than four years ago.
and to that point, I'm of the opinion that is too soon to start making movies of events. if you can still remember the details, you don't need a movie to reenact it.
But, re: profiting from tragedies - how about people who have suffered losses due to wars - no war movies? No Holocaust movies?
That said, Berg usually makes a good movie so I'll get around to watching it one day. I simply cannot stand Walhberg, he's a miserable actor.

im not sure thats the intention. Its to tell the story. Its to show that behind tragedy are the victims. The people involved and heroic side of side heroes we werent aware was involved. For me, it was watching it on tv. For some its a true story of the will to live and the process it takes to find people.
for a person like myself who has first hand seen the destruction of 9/11, it doesnt bother. It just gives a chance for others to see the courage of some and the real love that can shape our future.
Distracted lately I guess. Never caught it until you just pointed it out.
The bombing scenes were tough for me to watch, but the aftermath and the pursuit of the bombers was awesome. I like Walberg though. I'm not sure why b/c he's not the best actor, but maybe I just happen to like movies he's in.

As for the holocaust, I find myself very interested in a lot of movies on the topic. When they are done tastefully, I want to watch. Life is Beautiful though, is one many raved about that I did not care for at all.
