Is Malik McDowell a de or dt and does he fit the Giants?

Draft Tracker lists him at 272. He's strong and quick and usually moved around the line at Michigan State. Maybe the first question to ask is will he be there at 23. But, if we don't resign JPP and we don't sign his replacement, I think he'd be a good pickup if he falls to us. He's relentless in his pursuit of the qb. He could start at de and move inside to dt on passing downs.

This article that defenderdawg posted shows the draft 'experts' have him all over the place - including at 23 to the Giants.

Imo, he is a 3 tech than can line up outside

A Justin Tuck type talent.
I think he is a better player but I think more like a Cullen Jenkins

Where he is more of a DT who can occasionally move outside.
If we don't resign JPP or even Hankins

He looks like a great pick at 23. He seems a like unique talent. Can play inside and out at 275. Like a tall Aaron Donald? I guess there are some questions about his attitude but the Giants put a priority on that kind of thing so if they like him that's enough for me.
Can he play RT? Can he help protect an aging Eli?
