Giants have expressed some initial interest in TE Anthony Fasano, according to NFL source. Nothing formal yet. Jets also have some interest.

are they expecting him back fully healthy? Or is he expected to be released?
bringing in Fasano would be a way for

Reese to atone for his mistake in allowing Bennett to walk away when we needed a TE so badly....
yeah cause Reese should have locked the door

and not let someone who is a Free Agent CHOOSE to leave the Giants..

Bennett was an average TE who was paid a lot of money. He was not worth the 9 million in salary he would have cost especially with Cruz and Nicks who was healthy back then both needed contracts..
If Gronk earns $9M with a checkered injury past...
Torrag : 3/7/2017 4:59 pm : link
...how much I Bennett worth on the open market? I wouldn't pay him more than the $7M 'Lil Bill offered him...but someone probably will.
when MB left we were so short on cap space

that we had to spread replacement Myers deal over two years or more years (it was a one year deal masquerading as a multiple year deal guaranteed to incur dead money).

the true bungle was bringing in Myers at all, let alone paying him more than vet minimum.
How many times did we attempt to run outside the tackles?
robbieballs2003 : 3/7/2017 5:38 pm : link
Hkw much success did we have doing that?

I cannot remember too many successful runs outside the tackles. We coukd never seal off the edge of a defense. Getting a blocking TE is crucial. Tye is not that guy.
I like him and he'd be cheap

Start Adams with Fasano coming in and we would be all set. I dont want to spend a high draft pick on a TE, Adams was drafted by us already. Give him a chance, he has all the measureables.
Wasn't it Fasano that had a devastating knee

injury with the Dolphins? Or am I thinking of someone else? By the way, he's from Verona, NJ too!
Susan would help the OL

Imagine him shoring up either tackle? Sounds good to me. Get us out of 11 personal all the time. A great blocking TE is a win.
Don't think Fasano
DomerGiant2008 : 3/7/2017 9:12 pm : link
will come to the Giants. He is one of my clients and I know him pretty well. Just hung out with him a few weeks ago ... I think he is leaning towards retirement unless there is an offer for a decent chunk of money.

For allowing a Giants DB or LB to knock a td pass away from his hands in the 07 divisional playoff game beteeen nyg and Dallas. I want to say it was gibril Wilson?

I thought he dropped it.....

If you watch the replay you see Wilson definitely made things tougher for Fasano. Whether he actually knocked the ball away or not is tough to tell but he definitely was all up in Fasano's bubble. My impression is Wilson got his fingers in there.
Stop with Will Tye already

Tye is not now, nor will he ever be any kind of answer at TE. Who knows what Adams might be, but the idea that Tye is ever going to be "Pro Bowl-calibre" is laughable. He couldn't even start for most teams in the league.

Fasano or not, in a draft that is so deep at TE, the Giants need to draft at least one -- this is a great year to get one. Now that they signed Marshall, if a good pass rusher isn't available at 23 (none of the OTs seem worth a 23), they should consider Howard or Njoku. If they're gone, they can get guys in the MID ROUNDS who are better than anyone they currently have at TE.
