For one, Marshall SUCKS!! There is a reason he bounces from team to team. 2 he is injury prone. And finally he is a jackass. I can't wait for the Giants to lose a close game and either he or OBJ complains they aren't getting the ball enough.
The Giants didn't have a problem passing the ball. They had a problem pass blocking. How about spending money on the OL? I guess we will get our guy in the draft until we pass him up for another DL.
His bouncing from team to team has absolutely nothing to do with "sucking". What a ridiculous statement. 941 career catches over 12,000+ yards 82 TD's
if his head is on straight and he's still got something left, I'd
2015 he was a monster with good QB play. His style of play has never been speed... It's been physical and strong. Perfect fit and compliment. Nailed this pick.
is the perfect player to take a chance on. He's produced, we need a big WR, and he took a below market salary to stay in NY and have a chance at some playoff football. Even if Eli is declining, look at who was throwing Marshall the ball the last few years. Yikes.

Yep, injury prone. After all, he's missed 9 games in 11 seasons.
Though an end of career guy wasn't the kind of guy they would want and it certainly hasn't been. But great. Someone to keep defenses honest should be a great addition.
that was different than the ones we had and a VET to provide leadership and stability. Marshall is the perfect fit for RIGHT now... Gmen can win the whole thing and with that window of opportunity open for onlly so long you have to take your shot.

he's had 6 seasons with over 100 catches. if that sucks, I'll take the suck.

Huge upgrade from Cruz to Marshall. Some mild risk/ concerns but for that contract its a no brainer. Great signing and first big WR they've had since Plax ( and Ramses Barden.....)
wonder if the best move now is working a trade for Joe Thomas (2nd round?) and drafting a TE in the 1st. Okung is an upgrade but Thomas is the jackpot.
OBJ - Shepard - Njoku - Brandon Marshall
with
Joe Thomas blocking the blind side
and
Perhaps a nice power back (Blount, Lacy, Perine?) to "finish" things off? Would give us the look of a Championship squad.
It would be a move for Eli (and not the longterm health of the franchise) but he deserves it after what we've put him through, up front.
RE: If Mike Williams or Corey Davis is there at 23, we better take him
I agree. You don't pass on a future stud based on this signing. The Marshall signing is for today and should make us more dangerous by opening the field for both receivers and running backs. I like it.
Marshall takes pride in his blocking and has always been good at that.
Marshall was graded at #11 last year in run blocking according to PFF. His physical play out the outside should be able to open up some plays to that side the Giants would not normally run.
absolutely nothing negative about this move or the terms to lock him up.
I'm sure someone will find something to complain about ... but this move is a no brainer for Marshall and the Giants.
Now, use the money you saved by signing Marshall > Pryor/Alshon and go get 1 of these vet OL, extend JPP, and grab 1 of these rookie TEs.

.
What were they thinking, he is affordable for them.
They don't have a lot to spend, doesn't excite me either,
but that is your answer. He will be either good for
Beckham and Co., or toxic, we'll see?
I justed drooled thinking about that, gonna keep my fingers cross all of that happens. With hopefully the addition of a solid G pickup in the draft as well.
WR wasn't as much of a need as OL, DE, and LB but Marshall is a perfect complement for OBJ and great blockers as well as great in the redzone.. I also assume that snacks had some good things to say about him.. Now just fix the OL and we should kick ass next year.
And supposedly not a great guy in the locker room.
But as others have mentioned, he's a big, strong, legit #2 WR, which they desperately needed (a big upgrade over Ruben Randle). If teams ignore him to double OBJ, Marshall will make them pay.
If he doesn't become too much of a distraction, he's a good 2-year rental that solves a problem.
is very weird sometimes. When has Jerry Reese ever given the impression he will pass on a young talent because he signed a 33 year old? This is what you call a bridge signing, a stop gap (with some real 2017-2018 upside). If Reese loves a WR in the first or second he's not passing because he signed Brandon Marshall to a moderate short term deal c'mon.
assume Marshall sees post football opportunities in NY, that might evaporate if he left the city to finish his career. Taking less allows him to preserve those opportunities by staying in NY. And it gives him a chance to reach the playoffs.
- Give us the big receiver Eli loves.
- Gives us the red zone threat we need.
- Gives us the flexibility to not have to chase a TE early in draft. While BPA is "always" the rule of the day, it allows them to focus on OL if they want.

Opens the options at #23 to draft TE/RB/DE.....I like it a lot.
Boom.
Get OL and TE help now, bring back Hank and JPP, go to war.
but sadly true

Idiot.

I think it's a good fit as he doesn't have to be THE GUY. Think of like an end of career Marvin Harrison when they had Wayne.
His family must love NY. He gets to do his Showtime show, Giants get a discount and Marshall gets a legit chance at the playoffs.

Marshall has always been one of the league's best blocking WRs:
TE OL or LB round one. Got to think someone will slip out of those three
Great signing. Give me an solid OL and BPA in the draft, were golden.
Finalize a JPP extension, get a Tackle and draft a stud TE.
[snark]
Thank you for the asshatery. Even though Slade created a separate thread, you broke it first even if the posts were buried in another thread.

Thanks sir. Great to hear. Will help our run game and maybe will rub off on Odell and SS.
