Interesting extra innings in the Dominican Republic - Columbia game. First I've seen of a rule where after X number of innings they place runners on 1st & 2nd with no outs to start the inning. Based on this one half inning, I think it messes with the pitchers head. Dominican Republic scored 5 runs in this inning so far.
I feel for Columbia. They battled the whole game against a much more talented squad.
Hoping Canada has the same heart in their game today.
While I hate that shootouts decide an extra point in the NHL, not going to lie, I love watching them. They used to say the penalty shot is the most tense/exciting play in sports and the shootout is the same. But to decide a point? stupid. I still watch them though.
The WBC extra innings rule is just ridiculous. I hated it when it began in the 13th inning, in the 11th it's even worse. That I agree, not interested.
It was a joke how the MBLTV annoucers were making it sound like Columbia would have a chance in the bottom of the 11th inning. Once you score 3 or more runs in the top of the extra inning the game was over. If nothing else the giving up 3 runs is demoralizing, Giving up 7? Ha!
