It really looks like this thing is going to explode and dump upwards of 2 feet of snow on Long Island. I've seen some forecasts for up to 28 inches but that is going to be isolated where the heavy snow bands set up. In those bands, you may get 3-4 inches in a an hour. There may be some sleet mixed in at times because of the intensity of the storm. Along with Thunder snow.
The big concern is, there could be 70mph winds. This is going to be dangerous.
I am expecting Blizzard Warnings either late tonight or tomorrow morning.
This is not something to be taken lightly. Long Island is going to be shut down on Tuesday.
There is a small room for error here with a slight shift in the track but most models seem to agree with the scenario I just pointed out. I will use this thread if any updates are needed by lowering or even raising possible snow totals.
One thing is for sure, this is going to be a dangerous storm!
Be very careful clearing out all that snow.
Probably the easiest solution if it's that tightly wound up in there. with the extension cord it was tightly wound, but I was able to get slack little by little.
yup - that was some heavy snow this time ... only about 8" in Brooklyn but it's a complete mess with all the sleet, freezing rain and wind as well ...
NYC has announced that schools are open tomorrow.
Be very careful clearing out all that snow.
Clarks Summit, PA. Got at least 5 more inches after that picture was taken
My driveway is too damn big to even think about clearing it out with this much snow, it's a bitch doing it even with 4-5 inches even with a snowblower, have a buddy coming in the morning to plow it. I already did the steps and sidewalk leading to the front door and cleared a path for my dog, not doing anything else.
