NFT: Mets Chat 3/13/2017

- Tough break for Nimmo, outwith grade 1 hammy strain. Really nice spring to this point. No longer has a shot making the opening day roster which sucks for him but probably better in the long run

-3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, K final line for Crismatt vs. DR. Stuff won't pop off the page but solid line vs. a great team

-The Mets LHP relievers have not pitched well, to the point Adam Wilk has stood out, however Collins noted Wilk is not in the mix for the pen because of SP depth issues. Makes the Ynoa decision even more curious

-Minor knee surgery for Flexen, kid needs to stay healthy. Often dinged

-today RHP Noah Syndergaard, RHP Robert Gsellman, LHP David Roseboom, RHP Chase
Bradford, RHP Ben Rowen

better than valley fever or something undiagnosed, but two months of bronchitis seems like a lot.

Terry Collins says Noah Syndergaard's mystery illness is a lingering case of bronchitis. So at least he has a diagnosis. #Mets

My wife and I both had bronchitis this winter. It lasted about six weeks for both of us. There seems to be a nasty strain out there.

Weird how Collins got the diagnosis before Syndergaard did. Both commented today. lol.

Rosario ranked number 3 prospect again on Fangaphs top 100. The Mets had four other players ranked in the top 100; RHP Robert Gsellman 39th, 1B Dominic Smith 73rd, RHP Justin Dunn 77th and SS Andres Gimenez 82nd.

Probably the best Mets showing yet and Gsellman 39 is especially high.

This is the Rosario excerpt.

An exceptional athlete who has become more explosive and coordinated as his body has matured, Rosario projects as a plus defender at shortstop. His recent physical maturation has also aided his offensive output, though his raw power (which was on par with all but the games best power-hitting prospects at the Futures Game) hasnt shown up on paper yet. If he starts to get to it in games, and if more raw power comes as Rosarios frame continues to mature, hes going to be a monster. I consider him the best bet to top this list next year.
