Another starter gone (the 4th?) from a bad Cowboys defense. But they never have to pay the price for being over the cap. Right?

longer than I thought they would. A few might be able to help NYG.

Obviously Hankins, if not Bennie Logan.

Rex Burkhead.

If Mangold checks out physically he might be interesting as depth for RG.

I'd like to see this too, not at all costs but his range in the middle of the field I think really attributed to the defense being able to sometimes cover for 7 seconds last year.
Let's get JPP signed

comn' Jason, put the ink on the paper and let's get some pieces to this team.

Somehow people continually miss this fact. They've been slowly losing starting talent for several years. The depth on that team, especially the D, is ugly.

I honestly think that if Romo were allowed to play down the stretch last year there's a chance that team would be holding the Lombardi... It's almost a blessing that Dak created such pressure through winning that it painted them into a corner to not pull him out... I think last year was their shot, and this year I'm expecting them to drop back down to Earth.

Strange how things work, but one of the things I'm most excited about is to see how that Cowboys team responds with a season of film on Dak, and a loss of talent... I don't think very well.

maybe, I'm not convinced that D could've stopped ATL or NE.

Sounds like a shift with JPP where the Giants are willing to let him play out the tag now?

Or are you talking about Hankins. What odds are you placing on Hankins making it back on a 1 year 're-establish value' deal.
no reference to hankins

Eh, we'll see. I don't think anything they were doing with him was all that tricky nor do I think teams will suddenly discover the key to beating him. They knew it last year, they just couldn't do it. The key to his success (and the reason we were uniquely suited to stop it) was that teams couldn't devote adequate resources in the passing game AND stop their OL from just bullying their front 7 in the running game. That's not changing because teams get a chance to review the tape. It's going to continue to be a relatively clean field for him with simple reads because most teams won't have the beef to match up in the trenches. The real question is will he be able to take a step forward to compete against teams like us that do.
Bingo
ManningLobsItBurressAlone : 3/13/2017 1:06 pm : link
Dallas isn't going to surprise anyone this year. Zeke is going to still get north of 300 carries, and they are going to make you stop them on the ground. Dak will have relatively simple throws, and will be able to beat you with his legs as well in instances.
it'll be more interesting
giants#1 : 3/13/2017 1:09 pm : link
to see how the loss of 2 OL starters affects them. Granted it was the 2 weakest links, but it still impacts their overall depth. And by several accounts, La'el Collins looked like crap at LG before getting injured last season. Snacks/Hankins dominated him week 1.
Dallas' OL is still stellar, Zeke and Dak
Big Blue '56 : 3/13/2017 1:13 pm : link
work it perfectly..The Giants seemed to have the Zeke and Dak answer, but we'll see..
dallas losing all these players
djm : 3/13/2017 1:31 pm : link
not that they are great players but Dallas doesn't have the cap room to go out and do what the Giants did last year. The Giants replaces trash with greatness. That's how you flip a defense upside down. Dallas is losing mediocre players and replacing them with? Draft picks and 2nd year upstarts? Ok...those kids better be damn good and quick.

Every single dallas fan I talked to after Rodgers ripped their hearts out went on and on about the great young Cowboys and how this season was gravy from the start and it's all good because rookies get better yada yada...not one of them, all so called knowledgeable and as loyal as any ever mentioned the doomsday off-season that dallas was faced with. Nope. The D will be even better because of Jaylon Smith!

I fucking hate that fan base.

They were still good players though, curious to see how their defection and loss of continuity plays out.

He will be too expensive but I would be very happy with Daniel as the backup QB at the right price. He has experience in the west coast offense.
