would be a good back-up, just worried about what he would cost.
Imo, the Giants aren't spending big money on a backup and Daniel seems to be a guy that is more than a backup. He most likely will get money of a guy who can compete for a starting position.
You have to admit he must be one of the most underpaid players in the nfl. For the number of games that he has started look at these numbers.....
Mar 13 2017 Signed a 3 year $10 million contract with New York (NYG)
Mar 13 2015 Signed a 2 year $3.3M contract with New York (NYG)
Mar 21 2014 Signed a 1 year $795k contract with New York (NYG)
Jul 20 2010 Signed a 4 year $2.684 million contract with Miami (MIA)
Apr 23 2010 Drafted by Miami (MIA): Round 3 (#73 overall)
Guys have been paid more then this to not even be on team anymore (I'm talking about dead money)!!

Why is he underpaid? He was signed as a backup if I'm not mistaken. Thats what he is. How many games he has started does not dictate what he should be paid. He's a mediocre player and thats how he has been paid. Kevin Boothe was a better player than John Jerry.

Per @_SportsTrust, RB Eddie Lacy has agreed to terms with the #Seahawks. They answer their RB question

I'm not going to argue about how great Jerry is - he's OK as a pass blocker, sucks as a run blocker, and I would have preferred an upgrade - but he's mediocre and being paid below market, when you look at what some other players have signed recently.
For this money, if we could bump him to the bench with a better player via the draft, we'd be ahead of the game.
in regards to the offensive line but I would like to see them bring in Austin Pasztor to compete for either the RG or RT position. I would feel better about the offensive line with Fluker at RG and Austin Pasztor at RT rather than Jerry at RG and Fluker at RT. Having Jerry as a backup along with Hart and Brett Jones is very nice depth. The Giants would just need to draft an OT to serve as the swing tackle. Pasztor's versatility is very valuable. The Giants would have Pugh, Pasztor, and Fluker who could start at both guard and tackle.
Appears heading to Baltimore. And the Jets are visiting with Brandon Carr today. Wouldn't that be something to lose both of your starting CBs.
i was thinking the same. DAL has had a rough offseason: Romo (their safety net) walks, they lose 2 cogs on their OLine Leary and Free. They also lost both their starting S's Wilcox and Barry Church AND McClain at NT. Plus the bad news on Jaylon Smith and Randy Gregory. Witten another year older. And a full year's film of Dak to study.
everyone's of course assuming they are trending up. We'll see. Giants look improved in the division, as do the Eagles. WAS and DAL got worse. IMO.
Jeff Heath replaced Wilcox at the end of the season as a starter.
Church was one of their defensive captains and a very good run defender.
If they lose Clairborne and Carr they will be drafting multiple secondary prospects in the draft. They also need help at DT and a "war daddy" on the edge.
Their constant restructuring of contracts over the past several years to manage the cap is now being paid for with loss of all these players.
Way to go GM Jerry Jones.
Cowboy fans might be poor sports and bring up that 10 million dollar
got worse. Lost basically their whole secondary and a couple of other guys. The Skins are a miss. The Eagles seemed to have gotten better.
I think we are the front runners for this division. Just need to draft well now.

I don't trust anyone named Chase or Colt.

1 yr - $800k
2 yrs - $3.3M (~$1.65M per or 2xPrior Contract)
3 yrs - $10M (~$3.3M per or 2xPrior Contract)
In 2020 we're going to be giving Jerry a 4 year deal worth $27M!!!
Yes. Think the Cowboys will be drafting CBs in the draft?
They should be taking a step backwards defensively this season.
