23: R1P23 RB LEONARD FOURNETTE LSU
55: R2P23 G DAN FEENEY INDIANA
87: R3P23 DL DALVIN TOMLINSON ALABAMA
140: R4P33 EDGE DEMARCUS WALKER FLORIDA STATE

If they could make it happen...
adamg : 3/14/2017 2:11 pm : link
Not sure those players will make it to those slots though...
Im down with this mock

.
From my understanding
robbieballs2003 : 3/14/2017 2:14 pm : link
Fournette is still a top ten pick. Cook is gonna be the one to drop. How much? I have no idea. I don't think he gets passed the Eagles though unless they love a corner available. That would be amazing if Fournette was still there. I don't see how that is possible though.

jayg5 : 3/14/2017 2:19 pm : link
Is this your way of saying the Giants will trade up for Fournette because they love him? Half of bbi may think this
No CB?
Eman11 : 3/14/2017 2:21 pm : link
This draft is really deep at CB, and I can't see Jerry passing one up. Big mistake if he does IMO.

I'm thinking he grabs one by the 3rd rd, 4th at the latest.

I could see scenarios where that happens and it wouldn't be a mistake.

I love Rasul Douglas as a potential third rounder, but imo it may make more sense to dip in earlier for an RB.

How low do you think the kid from SDSU goes? He's an interesting prospect as a latter round CB.
Love the Dalvin Tomlinson pick in Round 3
YANKEE28 : 3/14/2017 2:24 pm : link
One of my favorite players in this draft. He is so often overlooked because of the many great players on the Alabama D.

Really great kid who lost his Dad early in life and his Mom several years later. Graduated from Alabama early with a degree in Finance and currently a Master's student.

Tomlinson played both inside and outside for Alabama, though scouts feel he will play DT in the pros. Measured 6'3" and 310 pounds at the Combine.

agree. look what happened when DRC went down at Green Bay.

No way Fournette falls to 23 anyway
Jerry's coming out of this draft
gidiefor : Mod : 3/14/2017 2:26 pm : link
with a CB, a TE, a FS, a RB, a LB, an DE, a DT. and an OL -- and not in that order
I'd look for a CB in the first 3 rounds
JonC : 3/14/2017 2:26 pm : link
too much value and depth to not grab one, perfect draft to add one to the pipeline.

Why do you say FS?

You also listed 8 positions.
Slade, try this site:

You'll like that site. It allows trades of the draft picks.

Thompson is promising, but no reason to rest on laurels if another prospect is to their liking.
I'll

Stab someone if they do not draft a TE.

hey i'm a generous guy
I think
the coffee man : 3/14/2017 2:40 pm : link
taking a RB in first round would be a major mistake.
Slade
Rjanyg : 3/14/2017 2:42 pm : link
Solid draft. Love the first 3 picks. Bolware is a good late round pick as well.
Like the 4th pick too.
Rjanyg : 3/14/2017 2:43 pm : link
Might be my favorite one

The draft is about TALENT and feeding the pipeline. The expectation isn't necessarily about 2017 ...
CBs just weren't there when my pick came up...
Slade : 3/14/2017 2:47 pm : link
Don't forget about D. Thompson and Rahim Moore... J. Adams at TE... They are expecting these guys to contribute...
good mock draft.
prdave73 : 3/14/2017 2:59 pm : link
Dan Feeney is going to be a stud.

We all saw how not having a solid #4 CB hurt us vs GB.

IMO, it's a mistake to not fix that. Especially when there's a lot of quality in this draft, coupled with DRC getting up there in years. Draft and groom his replacement now, while also having a solid backup in case of an injury to one of the top 3.
No TE?
EddieNYG : 3/14/2017 3:00 pm : link
When the Giants need one and in a class that is deep at the position?
Just did a quick one..
jayg5 : 3/14/2017 3:12 pm : link
1. Soloman Thomas
2. Dan Feeney
3. Kevin King
4. Jamal Williams
5. Deangelo Brown. DT
6. adarius Stewart
7. George Kittle
Safety and Nickel
RAIN : 3/14/2017 3:18 pm : link
The size/speed and productivity of this class might be too much to ignore for Reese. Ditto for nickel corner to take over for DRC. This DB class is deep with quality at all positions.

The edge depth will be very hard to ignore in the second as well. Willis from K. State is the guy for us.
Gidie
Giant John : 3/14/2017 3:48 pm : link
LOL. I'd like to see that happen. I don't think the RB drops that far. Id love to see Mixon in the third though. I think he is going to be special.
Love Dan Feeney at 55

I agree. But, I don't think you can say CB#4 is a high priority.
I don't see how Solomon Thomas gets out of the Top 5
LI NHB : 3/14/2017 4:52 pm : link
he just jumped off the tape in everything you watch of him. I feel he may be the best player in this entire class down the road 5 years.
These simulators blow
Torrag : 3/14/2017 4:54 pm : link
Totally unrealistic scenarios.
The draft isn't necessarily about high priority
JonC : 3/14/2017 4:54 pm : link
it's about TALENT in the pipeline.

Further, consider DRC's age and the LACK of talent behind him and CB from a CB-rich draft is a potentially excellent use of a draft pick.

More about talent, less about needs.
More about talent, less about needs.
Torrag : 3/14/2017 4:56 pm : link
This looks great written on paper. And I agree this should be the approach...until you see JR force a pick at OT and realize it's not the case.

Exactly my thinking.

They will reach/force at times
JonC : 3/14/2017 5:06 pm : link
but I won't sit here and complain that they must burn their first pick on OL or TE, etc.
Gareon
ryanmkeane : 3/14/2017 5:12 pm : link
Conley is a guy who I think the Giants would fall in love with after the combine. Would love him at 23.
Ry
jayg5 : 3/14/2017 5:26 pm : link
Agree 100%. He's my top choice cb ar pick 23. Looks like he can play on the outside and inside. I believe he started over Lattimore with Apple 2015/2016 season.
Given the strength of this draft
Jay in Toronto : 3/14/2017 5:35 pm : link
A CB and pass rusher are musts

But at the end of the day who is available when they pick given their Board will be the determining factor.

Yup - have to reload the CB talent pool with DRC gone after this season. Pairing Apple and Jenkins with another young stud would be great. Jenkins is also not that young himself.
That's a ridiculous draft.
lugnut : 3/14/2017 5:37 pm : link
There is now way Fournette is falling out of the top 10, let alone to 23.

There is no way Walker lasts past the 2nd round, let alone is available in 4.

I could go on.
Corners are also similar to RBs
ryanmkeane : 3/14/2017 5:37 pm : link
after 30 years old they start to fall off a bit.
