I didn't see anything special out of game management from Ben. He made some major clock gaffes and his coaching in the playoff game was horrible.
The jury is still out on him. Last year was all the defense.

Exactly, and the offensive additions, especially Ellison and Marshall fill key gaps in the offense. Marshall gives them the best WR corps in the NFCE to go with the best QB. Ellison improves blocking and gives them a reliable 4th/5th passing option out of their standard 3 WR set. They aren't "sexy" moves but I think they will be important. I wish they'd have kept Will Johnson for the same reason but maybe he'll be back.

good post. I agree with this wholeheartedly. McAdoo showed that he was more concerned about winning than looking smart. He plays to the teams strengths. The Offensive, WCO genius played Steve Owen, Giants football and won 11 games. I was impressed.

I don't know how well Dave played individually against that ferocious Niner defense in the NFC title game, but we won and Eli lived through it, so Dave did his job.

Go with Flowers and give him every chance, but have a veteran, a durable experienced veteran without maybe four trips to the Pro Bowl but who is fearless and fights hard every play. Because you can win the Super Bowl twice with a 5th round draft choice at left tackle.

I think he did a decent job as a first year head coach, but I wouldn't call it masterful. It seemed like teams always knew what we were doing offensively.
