A lot of pundits are high on Wichita St and expect them to do some damage but I don't see Kentucky losing for a very long time (if at all) which would eliminate Wichita in rd 2.
I really like Vermont ( the hottest team in the country) as my favorite upset.

Bucknell set the bar for Patriot League upsets when they took down Kansas as a 15 seed and the was in the 8-9 matchup a year later and beat Arkansas.
That said, anytime Duke gets upset early and sends Mike Shanahan's ratfaced twin home, it is all good, even when some try to wax poetic about academic standards for a bunch of one and done players......

That being said, Bucknell benefitted from his injury his senior year. I think that was the last time we were in the tourney - with a lot of NIT bids in the time since.
I've been on ETSU from the beginning so F it I'm sticking with it as my 13 over a 4. I like Bucknell and Vermont but they got bad draws (i think both are as good as a 12-seed Princeton).
UNCW and MTSU as the 12s; Rhode Island as the other 11, although I despise Danny Hurley and hope they actually lose.
Actually gidie, it's more a reality than one might think. Seth Davis is on record as a Seahawk believer, we have one of the best coaches in college basketball and a squad that can can play with the ACC. Well, some of the ACC, we'd have no shot against Duke, ND, Louiseville or UNC but Virginia isn't really a top team. They have no offense, play slow down with a decent defense but it's mainly an illusion. They don't rebound or shoot free throws. Defense winds championships in the NFL, Guards win championships in the Tourney.
The bigger question is why ND didn't move up in the rankings after thoroughly trouncing Virginia in the ACC Tourney. No way we should be a 5 if Va is a 5. We should be a 3 or 4. Oh well, I'd rather see Princeton than UNCW, Seahawks are for real. Say goodbye to Va fans early.

You should have some time for me with the 'Cuse game postponed and this not being an NIT thread. In all honesty, 'Cuse is much better than Virginia and nobody would have wanted the Orange as a first rd game. If they drew Zaga as a 16 vs a 1, would have been the first in history. Great upset points! I'll settle for ND knocking off Zaga and struggling against 'Zona.

To my knowledge there haven't been any admitted Dook fans here on BBI. At least none that have spoken up before they got their full squad healthy. Dook is a contender now, I'm sure some fans will come out of the woodwork but Louiseville is the team to beat in the ACC. Be nice to see a Dook/ND final 4 semi though. In that case I would have to go Duck Fook.

If UVA can't shoot, then can Notre Dame? Notre Dame had an EFG% of 54%. UVA was 52.9%. That is an indistinguishable difference. UVA shot better from 3 than Notre Dame this season (so Notre Dame must be dreadful from 3), but Notre Dame was slightly better from 2 and much better from the FT line.
Like I've said before, all Notre Dame did in the ACC tournament against Virginia was prove that nobody beats Notre Dame 11 times in a row.

Fairly sure Bucknell was a 14 seed that year, not a 15, still a huge upset regardless.

It's a local pool , bunch of guys that talked me into playing softball for them after my prime but it's legit and interesting. If you like someone besides Duke or NC you have a keg up already.
VCU is more athletic, faster, and more physical. But they can't shoot the three. Luckily, one of the biggest changes from Shaka to Will Wade is the transition to being a team that scores most of it's points inside the paint. If VCU can speed up St. Mary's to play at their pace, it's going to be a long game for St. Mary's. Their inside game will get St. Mary's best player in foul trouble (as he had 4, 5, and 4 fouls against the best team they played, Gonzaga), because they are going to keep pounding it inside relentlessly. If VCU let's St. Mary's dictate the pace, and find open threes, it's going to be a long day for VCU.
I personally think that VCU's athleticism is unlike anything (other than Gonzaga and a crippled Dayton) St. Mary's has seen, and VCU will get St. Mary's in foul trouble. Then again, depends on what the officials let go because VCU plays physical with a lot of handchecking. VCU is tournament tested. 7 in a row. They are battle tested. Is St. Mary's?
All that said, St. Mary's is a 7 seed and a 4 point favorite for a reason.

NMSU is a completely different program after Menzies left to coach UNLV. Aggies like to play a much more uptempo game whereas years previous they bled the shot clock and had huge big men.
We went on a 20 game win streak this year, destroying Arizona State along the way. They started to get recognized nationally and they turned to shot for a couple games.
Won the WAC Championship over Cal Bakersfield who is currently pummeling Cal in the NIT.
I don't know if we have the size/shooting to stay with Baylor. We should keep it close though, this team has a ton of heart.
I'm begging for a reason to oust Baylor early.

UVA is the 5 seed with the strongest chance to advance in the first round, around 80% of the time in most simulations.
Virginia Tech and VCU are very likely to lose, about 70% of the time, in the simulations.
