Orleans Darkwa's deal is for 1 year worth up to $1.8M, per source. He gets a $200K roster bonus, up to $200K per game roster bonus and $695K base salary. The rest is performance and playtime incentives.
Since the total is $1.8M, I read it as up to $200k in total for per game bonuses. So assuming an even split, he gets a bonus of $12.5k per game where he's active.

OK, that makes a lot more sense. So he's effectively getting vet min plus a 200k bonus, and incentives that hover somewhere between LTBE and NLTBE.
This class is flush with talent at the position and I am excited about the potential to have 2 young backs (Perk + Draftee) developing at the position.
at the original-round level would've cost $1.797M.
NYG passed on tendering Darkwa (it would've only gotten them a right-of-first-refusal, as Darkwa was undrafted), but that number probably loomed large in the negotiations. They didn't want to commit to paying the Tender salary right now, but they gave Orleans the opportunity to earn it.
Orleans Darkwa was impressive against the Cowboys.
if he gets injured, or if he doesn't get a uniform. The guy's a good ST player and when healthy a decent runner and pass catcher out of the backfield; if we can do better in the draft we're covered w/re to the cap. Nice work by Abrams/Reese.
RE: Orleans Darkwa was impressive against the Cowboys.
How about the touchdown runs against the Vikings, when he buried their linebackers? Was that impressive? He's good on specials. He has an excellent nose for the goal line when he gets in close. He plays every play like it's his last act on earth.
He should have been playing ahead of Jennings before he got hurt . If he doesn't make the team, fine, they will have found another good running back. But this was a good signing. The guy knows how to play.
Vet minimum, but incentives built into it so the player can make more than an extra million dollars if he plays out of his ass. Now that's a carrot. Perfect!

Retro: That was a nice play, but I only recall one TD, and one linebacker. Pushing the undersized Eric Kendricks one yard - when Kendricks had an imperfect angle and no help to the outside - is something any decent short-yardage back should do. Not scoring on that play would have required a great stop by Kendricks.
Don't get me wrong - we all like the way Darkwa runs. He just keeps disappearing, due to a combination of injuries and the coaches seeing holes in his game that made a JAG like Jennings a more attractive option.

Darkwa does.

I wonder if:
a) the roster bonus is only if he makes the final 53 or
b) the RB uses some sort of cap exception for vet players
I want a Jacobs-Bradshaw 2.0.

You will if Perkins gets hurt
Now punch yourself in the face

He showed up before last season with a leg injury....
Just can't be counted on.....
