Documenting the civil war and it's impact on the civilians. I couldn't fall asleep after so be mindful of that. I thought it was very well done.

Just caught a truly bizarre doc called Tickle.

One of those really good docs that start as one thing and ends up going down the rabbit hole to become something completely different. I'm not even sure how to describe it so I'll just post the description that's online...

"A journalist intends to document an international tickling competition for kicks. Instead, he finds a bizarre and even threatening world created by a bully with deep pockets."

Yeah, you read that right. "Tickling competition"...
It's not new, but Meru was great.

Brutally sad story about the 2009 Taconic State Parkway accident automobile accident that killed 8. This story takes you down a sad road. The film starts off with two views of who the young mom is that was the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident. Is she a reckless drunk? Is she a loving, responsible wife/mom? Perhaps both?

The story is gut-wrenching, the impact on so many is life-altering, and the search for truth is frustrating.

Very well done documentary.
Welcome to Leith

Really interesting.

Also, anyone who likes Michael Moore's films needs to see
Manufacturing Dissent -- it's not a hack job as it is done by two Canadians who started out admiring Moore.

Here's a really well-done documentary on the lead up to the war and the war itself. It covers it from a variety of viewpoints with lots of fascinating interviews.

I remember when this happened. I thought of watching the DOC but decided against it. The story is as terrible as one can imagine. I might have to watch it.

"Touching the Void"
"Last Days in Vietnam"

Also, one of the best things I've ever seen on TV was Frontline's "The Man Who Knew" (link below) about John O'Neill, the FBI, and years that led to 9/11.

If you have Amazon, you can stream the Steve Gleason (the former NO Saint who was diagnosed with ALS) documentary. Its really good but you'll cry a little. If you don't then you're probably a monster.
