Why the hell do they let people get licenses for venomous snakes? I could understand zoos or universities, but why does John Q. Shithead get to walk into a government office, pay 50 bucks and get a license to carry around a deadly snake?
RE: It's Florida - if it's only one deadly cobra on the loose

They tried to enact laws but the NRA (National Reptile Association) spends millions each year opposing any legislation restricting reptile ownership.
A Cobra got loose in Orlando in 2015. It was found 4 weeks later under a dryer. Most people have their (notice my use of their) machines in the garage, about a mile from the snake owner's house.
He goes on trial today! Not sure what the chargers are exactly.
A friend of mine owned a tiger and had him chained to a telephone pole in his front yard (he lived in the country). When the Jehovah's Witnesses came to his house to proselytize, they asked him what he fed his tiger. He replied, "Christians."
He was never bothered by the Jehovah's Witnesses again.
In texas, the tiger population is higher then all the wild.
All pets!!
Not just as pets. I have a friend (She's 53) whose Uncle (so he's decrepit) has a game ranch. He used to own an oil company and sold out to the larger conglomerates. He enjoyed big game hunting, but grew tired of going to Africa. He's developed his ranch with exotic game so he can go hunting when he feels like it. It really is disgusting to see his ranch lodge with his "trophies".

When I was typing it I knew someone was going to go there...
Although I forget which amendment gives us the right to bear serpents. Probably the same one that gives all those farmers corn subsidies.
Much crazier things going on in FL. Probably crazier than this too, but it's a funny one. This tourist stole a forklift from a marina because he lost his keys, crashed through the gate and drove it down the street. Claims he's a genius.
