Performance Based Pay

YANKEE28 : 3/15/2017 11:47 am
Today the NFL will have available the 2016 Performance Based Pay adjustments for players. The money usually is not large amounts and most often goes to lesser players that achieve goals within their contracts.

The best NFL beat writer to follow who tracks these is Aaron Wilson who is on Twitter.

Always interesting to see for the Giants players from last year who end up with a higher salary based on performance.
maybe Adams?

is reporting that Bobby Hart got the most ($361,072.96) and that Andrew Adams was 2nd ($316,310.42)
Will Tye probably got a decent chunk of change.

Romeo Okwara seems like a candidate too, though his playing time was quite limited until after Pierre-Paul got hurt.

Yes, but incentives are a slightly different category than this performance based pay.

Individual incentives are specific to a particular player's contract, and they count against the cap. (The timing varies, based on LTBE vs. NLTBE classification.)

The performance-based pool is a league-wide pot for modestly-paid players who take a lot of snaps.
