when I was a bartender at the Madhatter on the upper East side. Every asshole drunk from New Jersey and Long Island came to Manhattan to puke on the side walks! Dreadful day for those of us that lived there.
So much of this day is ruined by few. Other than an evening of corned beef and cabbage, it is reported as negative and shouldn't be. Having a couple of beers toasting ancestors is replaced with drunken behavior and puking on the sidewalk. The parade which has a wonderful intent is filled in the headlines with groups that aren't allowed to march or those that insist on marching. All political crapola.
I'm not Irish but do enjoy the positives of their day.
Expecting a bigger turn out than last year. More people on the roads this year down here. Partying about to go up as the evening comes on. Full Staff here.
Because it's MY island.
2. New Year's Eve
Too many amateurs. On the other hand, I will be having a nice boiled dinner and chill time with the wife tonight.
day drinking and watching march madness games all day.

haven't had the interest (or had the opportunity) to "celebrate" it in a long time
Stay safe.

Sun is out, birds are singing, U2 blasting on the stereo, everybody wearin' green, basketball all day. Even the ocean was greenish blue this morning.
It you can't smile today, you never will. Enjoy the party.
Stay safe out there.
