on Meatloaf, highlighting his showmanship and incredible singing voice....Samples from the album that would become Bat out of Hell were initially rejected by album companies because the songs were too complicated and too long -
and I'm sure I'll like that.
I've been digging the new Mastodon and Afghan Whigs songs from their upcoming albums.
Love the new Ryan Adams album, Prisoner.
And, for some reason, I've been super into Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" as of late. That and Gentle Giant mid-70s prog.

OHHH.. I love all of that. Can't wait on the new DM today. I forgot about it.
I'm REALLY liking the new Ryan Adams. He should re-name it "Mandy Moore Broke My Heart".. what a great album.
Gentle Giant is cool.. I got into Caravan lately. It's really cool stuff.
But the white album and anything after has been panned badly in these parts. We are always hoping for a return to blue, red, even green sounds.
step 1) Get Matt Sharp back in the band
step 2) (this is mean) Perry Como needs his heart broken
step 3) They need to listen to Pinkerton again
step 4) write

I am a Depeche Mode fan and looking forward to the new album but I am borderline shocked that they could headline at the Garden for 2 nights.
the last two tours, both with a sold-out house full of crazed fans, so I'm not too shocked about two nights at MSG. NYC loves them some Depeche.
Now getting tickets is another story. They had a 'points-system' presale. I pre-ordered the album and got a 'place in line.' When it came time to buy the tickets, I got nothing. By the time the general onsale came about, many dates were already sold out due to the many, many other corporate pre-sales. Basically, their ticket philosophy was a shitshow this time around; keeping many fans out while serving up a banquet to scalpers (just look at secondary sites). Just another example that makes me long for the days of one onsale date where your ass waits in the cold for 5 hours to get a ticket, but you get one because they haven't been taken by bots and 850 corporate presales. Get off my lawn, I know, but shit has gotten out of hand.
went to see a concert last summer for a band called Panic at the Disco.
They told me some band they never heard of named Weezer was opening for them. I thought holy hell, WTF happened to Weezer they're opening for Panic at the Disco.
Found out later they were technically co-headlining and Weezer went on last. Still kind of sad.
almost as sad as when I saw Huey Lewis and the News play at the local AM radio station annual kite fly/chili cook-off. Can't get much lower than playing the chili cook-off. And everyone kept walking by them and saying "I'm afraid you're just too darn loud"
OK.. I listened to the Depeche Mode. It's an EXCELLENT album. It's very politically driven, and despite me not agreeing with the message, I truly appreciate how passionate they are. It's dark and dismal (aka, Depeche Mode).
I will listen to it many times over. Damn they are pissed lol
on Sunday. Looking forward to it. Also really like the new Ryan Adams record. I haven't really liked any Stones record since Emotional Rescue, but Blue and Lonesome is really good.
Really diggin' the new Ryan Adams. Thanks for the reminder there.
It's darn good. Funny, he's so prolific and I used to criticize him for releasing too much. His last few albums have been really damn good and very concise, and now I wish he'd release more.
Really interesting
not a reference to your "Beezer" name, I just happened to listen to it this morning at the gym.. if I had 10 thumbs ALL would be down.

He's wayyyyy too effin' happy, for sure. Someone needs to step in there.
The White album? that was released in 2016, you have to go back at least 15 years to find a time when Weezer was relevant.
Though I did kind of like the song Beverly Hills.
So good. Moar albomz plz.

Been enjoying the new Thievery Corporation release (Temple of i and i)as well. They've turned back to reggae, in a big way.

Right. There have been good songs on albums in the last 15 years. lol (Unless you're a Weezer Snob. Ha.)
