Middle Tenn vs Butler 7:10
Run the gambit!!!
ND vs WVU
my bad
Free throw shooting could keep it interesting but ND has not been impressive in the least.
Or is that repetitive since I already mentioned Bucknell?
Mookie -- you gotta make a call to the bench here and straighten these ND guys out
I had them going to the Final Four too. Not looking good right now.
I didn't see Notre Dame losing to Ole Miss in the NIT
Where did Rocky go?

Who cares? Dude is a delusional loser.

Awww. Boo hoo. What that 40 year streak got to do with Cuse? Nothing.
Don't be a sore loser. Sorry your team lost man.
And Bucknell does it without giving out athletic scholarships.
Wisconsin is playing like they belong - they look must more at ease out there

I enjoyed watching them foul over and over again.

Nobody is playing well for Nova right now other than Hart and DiVincenzo. Jenkins has been off since just before the Virginia game and based on his play today, that worm is not going to turn anytime soon. We're down 4. Could have been 10. The concern level is high right now.
Build a lead. Their best big guys are on the bench.
...if they continue to let them foul on almost every possesion. It is a great strategy used by a lot of the really good pressing teams (Louisville, VCU, etc), not to mention a lot of the good high school teams in the NYC CHSAA. It allows you to get away with about half of the fouls you commmit, because they can't/won't call everything.
It was painfully obvious that Beechum had ZERO confidence in his shot and his being on the floor was hurting the team. WVU was leaving him wide open on purpose just begging him to shoot.
Gibbs clearly could not handle the press. Not sure what the problem was ... maybe just a freshman being nervous, but he clearly couldn't get it done and had about 5 turnovers (and that stupid technical that killed all our momentum).
Matt Ryan was playing a good, hard game and he is a pretty deadly shooter when he gets wide open looks. I can't for the life of me understand why Brey wouldn't put him in for Beech in the 2nd half.
And Villanova shits the bed. Another 2nd round loss.
but it is annoying that this is Duke's region to lose now.

Thanks man. I'm so stoked right now.
Wisconsin fouled from the opening tip to the last play. And I was rooting for them.
This is also another example of bad seeding by the committee. Nova gets Wisconsin as an 8 when they should've been the 5 or 6 that Minnesota and Maryland.
Two classy young men.
Those teams would have to play an A game and Duke would have to play a C game for Duke to lose
Me too pal. Me too.

Duke's is just dumb. Baylor, then the winner of Wisconsin vs Virginia/Florida? Far from a cakewalk.

Wisconsin just played a C game and beat Nova.
Either way, I'm too happy to bicker over this shit. So fucking ecstatic.

Wisconsin played their best game of the season to beat Nova
2 best players missed major stretches. 7-16 from the freethrow line. Double their usual turnovers. Stop it.
Maybe Villanova played a bad game, but Wisconsin was far from their best.

Agree. At an absolute minimum, both Northwestern and Wisconsin were seeded 8th. Same geographies more or less, same conference obviously. Wisconsin finished 2 games ahead of NW in conference play and overall record.
Safe to say Wisconsin then would be a higher 8 seed... than Northwestern. So then why the fuck would you have the #1 overall seed in the tournament play the better 8 seed than what Gonzaga, overall #4 in the tournament, plays later today?
But obviously i agree with you that they should have been a 6 or 7 seed to begin with. I'd have given Wichita State the 5 seed, dropped Minnesota to 7 or 8, and dropped Vanderbilt to a 10.
Every other team is a damn speed bump for Duke the rest of the way.

When the bracket was announced I said immediately the NCAA F'ed Villanova. Top overall seed and to get a matchup vs a team that was better than a damn 8 seed? I can deal with losing. There is no shame losing next week at msg if that happens. When the 2nd seed (Duke) has an easier half of the bracket than the top overall seed, something isn't right.
Thanks NCAA.
But of course, coach does not have to sit out a year...
FSU getting hammered by Xavier
Virginia definitely up against it vs. Florida in Orlando
Uh-oh...
Meanwhile the much maligned Big 10, sec and pac 12 are doing very well
But as good a season as they had, Leonard Hamilton should be ashamed of himself how his team played late in the year and in this tournament. That's terrible coaching. If I'm the AD I'm not at all happy. Losing happens but losing by 25 in Orlando - a halfway decent coach gets a lot more out of that FSU team than Hamilton did this year
Crazy day of upsets - I suppose not surprising with all the chalk Thursday
17 points at halftime...frigid shooting
ACC really getting hammered
They are brutal right now
6 of 9 teams - gone. Two blown the fuck out of the building today alone.
But they aren't, so they'll probably go hard after Alford.
Milwaukee tonight
My Zags had the same damn issue they've had several times this year in which they've let teams back into the game despite large second half leads (Arizona, Iowa State, even in the 1 game they lost they had a double digit 2nd half lead). Guys who really should know better at this point made ridiculous unforced errors in the second half. They obviously got lucky with the goal-tending play. The only defense I have of the officials is I (and a lot of other people watching and at the game) didn't even notice it... it happened that fast. I'm just happy to advance. I don't really give a shit if it looks good or not.
But they aren't, so they'll probably go hard after Alford.
I agree. However, I'm sure there are some people like Dan Dakich around the program, who made one of the most asinine comments I've ever heard this morning. These idiots would rather have "Knight guys" than the best coach available.
Also, why would Alford leave UCLA when he knows he is getting the other two Ball brothers (unless he is sick of their dad and wants to get out of there, back to his alma mater)
Milwaukee tonight
Iowa and Iowa St fans are notorious for traveling to follow their team in big games

I know Indiana is begging after 20 years to be relevant again but your best bets are Marshall (seems really pissed about being down seeded again) or playing UCLA heartstrings even though UCLA would pay more than you and offer better quality of life and for his kids life versus fuckin Bloomington
Also, why would Alford leave UCLA when he knows he is getting the other two Ball brothers (unless he is sick of their dad and wants to get out of there, back to his alma mater)
The younger ball seems to be a prospect, but middle Ball doesn't look impressive at all. That isn't a reason to stay.

Their dad is a fucking idiot, using his kid's talent to promote himself

Agree. I would not leave UCLA for Indiana for any reason but that just pretty much cements it.

And when Alford figures that out and doesn't start the middle Ball brother, the dad will ask for him to be fired. Maybe Alford would rather go home again instead of dealing with the lavar ball circus

It's crazy... I thought that same exact thing last week.
Purdue wins
Northwestern gives Gonzaga a very tough fight
A lot of guys graduating. Sounded like a guy open to a discussion
You knew the dreadful offensive performance was coming. Just a matter of when.
Virginia isn't going to do better than Bennett, but I also think they have hit their ceiling under him. Maybe this is their ceiling as a program, not just under him. Sweet 16's, 2nd round, the once in every great while Elite Eight.
I don't believe without superior athletes that you can win 4 let alone 6 games in a row in the NCAA tournament playing the style he wants to play. The pace is just way too slow.
They should have no impact on whether or not Alford leaves UCLA.
Killed my bracket but I'm sure B took Syracse to win it all this year, oh wait.
UVA shows it's true colors, that was uplifting. I mean Florida just crushed them. Beat them worse than ND did in the ACC Tourney.
I'm here for any WV fans who would like to enjoy their win. They played a great game, hitting on high notes in all facets of their game.
Congrats

You run your mouth over and over and over again, and then instead of taking the high road and just shutting the hell up when your team gets their asses kicked, you continue to try to ridicule other fans and teams. At least you waited a day to start up again, but I'm guessing it has less to do with baseball clinics and more to do with finally waking up in that pool of vomit and feces after your team got curb stomped. Thankfully you'll likely be passed out again in another hour or so

Was at an all day baseball clinic in the rain and the cold. Just watched it this morning. Beachem never found his shot, killed us. Farrell dribbling into corners and picking up his dribble, killed us. Carter hitting 3's from inside the tourney emblem painted at half court. Killed us.

Let me guess, this high road you speak of, it's the one that you're taking?

They're not the issue, the father is the issue. Lavar has Alford by the short hairs because Lonzo pretty much saved Alford's job (remember Alford's seat was really warm, to say the least, and he has not had a highly successful career as a HC going back to Iowa)
The father will play that card--you're losing because my boys aren't getting the ball most of the time

Who cares if he's taking a job at Indiana? Also since when does a dad have control over a coach?
Wow. Wonder what happened there? He's waited all this time and now with JB leaving after next season, he bolts? Good for him I guess but where's that leave 'Cuse down the road?
